Circle of the Swarm

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Live for the Swarm.

Druids of the Circle of the Swarm meet in dark and sacred places around the corpses of ritualistically sacrificed beasts. You act for the good of nature, for the good of the circle, for the good of the swarm. Summon fearsome tiny beasts to do your bidding and disperse yourself into the hive mind, your countless forms will blot out the sun.

Have you ever fought an annoying NPC and thought, "Can I shoot hornets at him?" or had a difficult problem that could only be solved by becoming a swarm of rats? If so, this is the book you've been looking for.

This 4 page (2 if we're being honest, not including the cover and intro pages) handbook includes everything you need to join the Circle of the Swarm as your next druid character.

The swarm shape feature also includes a highly variable stat block with optional features perfect for creating a swarm to fight in your next campaign.

The Circle of the Swarm starts with two base abilities, Summon Swarm and Swarm Shape. These two features form the core of the archetype, giving you the capacity to create swarms to attack your foes and become a swarm of whatever tiny creatures you desire.

Later abilities allow you to enhance your swarms, disperse yourself over a wide area to find hidden secrets, and temporarily disperse to protect yourself or sacrifice parts of your swarm to save an ally.

If its not class options but race options you're looking for, take a look at our Beastmen Race Creator. It's currently Pay What You Want on the DM's guild and is a great opportunity to decide if our books are right for you. Check it out here at

If you're looking for class options and magic items that are less swarming and more arcane then take a look at Runemastery. It's on the DM's guild and is a great opportunity to decide if our books are right for you. Check it out here at

This subclass has a great feel, and isn't nearly as overpowered as the old 3rd ed version could get. I'd propose a couple minor edits, but overall this is great raw material for use in a home game. Specifically I'd specify "beasts" in [...]

I absolutely LOVE this subclass! The Circle of the Swarm focuses its attention on taking a convention of the druid class, namely the Wild Shape feature, and playing with it in a flavorful and cool way without making it overpowered or unmanageable. The [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
