Creatures of Air

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Air elementals? Invisible stalkers? Air myrmidons, maybe? IS THAT ALL YOU'VE GOT?

Not anymore.

Within these pages you'll find twelve new creatures to call upon when your game needs air cultists, or a wild tornado, or a trip to the Boundless Blue itself. Twelve creatures that call the Plane of Air home, elemental and otherwise. Here's what we're looking at:

  • The air beast (Challenge 4) - an eight-foot invisible skull with batwings that is...surprisingly docile, if it's not currently sucking sand.
  • The air mephit (Challenge 1/4) - an elemental imp created from a pure element, rather than a combination of elements.
  • The anemo and the eolian (Challenge 4) - elementals that embody the fight of law vs. chaos on the Plane of Air.
  • The barbaric arrowhawks (Challenge 1) - raiders and pillagers of the storm.
  • The scent-eating dusters (Challenge 1/4) - tiny elemental vermin that infest places of pure air.
  • The ildriss (Challenge 2) - elemental grues who have found gainful employ as thugs for Yan-C-Bin
  • The sislan (Challenge 4) - enigmatic one-eyed whirlwinds that seem to want to purge the Plane of Air from outsiders.
  • The spirit of the air (Challenge 5) - simian celestials birthed from the breath of the gods, who now serve deities of the wind and storm.
  • Beautiful and dangerous sylphs (Challenge 2) - fey that dance through the sky in celebration of their freedom.
  • The dangerous voidwraiths (Challenge 5) - what happens when an air elemental turns undead.
  • The powerful wind walkers (Challenge 3) - who can scour the flesh from your bones if you are near them.

Get Blown. Away.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
