Praise for Ring Out, Wild Bells

"This is a great adventure for a stormy evening. Just get yourself and your players some hot chocolate, close the shutters and prepare for a good old fairy tale!" - Christian E., 5 stars

"Well written, edited and organized, Ring Out, Wild Bells is among the best the Guild has to offer! HIGHLY Recommended!" - Travis L., 5 stars

For the past 9 years the small town of Haren’s Watch has been plagued by a wicked fey spirit known only as Mr. Grin. Every year the creature and its fiendish little minions torment the town over the course of three nights, culminating in the kidnap and transmutation of one of the village children into a lifeless statue made entirely of coal. It is the tenth year of Haren’s Watch suffering this calamity and this year, amidst a raging blizzard, a weary party of adventurers seeks refuge in the small village...

Ring Out, Wild Bells is an adventure for 3-5 3rd level characters. It is designed to be played in a single session and should take between 3 to 6 hours. The adventure favours characters and players who enjoy roleplaying and exploration but contains additional optional encounters for players who enjoy more combat focused play.

Ring Out, Wild Bells is the third installment in the Adventure on Tap series. Each adventure is created to make running the game as simple as possible for the Dungeon Master. With this adventure you get:

  • A professionally designed 19 page PDF with a clear and easy to read layout. Includes both a full colour version and a printer friendly version.
  • A map pack containing full colour hand drawn maps, printer friendly maps, player safe maps, and gridless maps for easy online play
  • 3 new creatures, including the mysterious fey creature Mr. Grin
  • Helpful hints and tips on running the adventure, gleaned from "in the trenches" experience from over 20 years of Dungeon Mastering

You can find the other adventures in the Adventures on Tap series, The Graveyard Shift here and The Beast of Bastion Bay here.

A Really great adventure, especially if you want something with a roleplay focus and love the unseelie court or fey creatures in general. Players get your DM to run this DM's why aren't you already running this. Come take a look at my full review here [...]

This is a fine adventure evoking the feeling of Grimm's Faerie Tales. Dark pacts, unseelie fae and a tragic tale of loss are woven together into a three-night horror story perfectly suited for players seeking a darker D&D experience. Well written, [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
