5E Ranger's Animal Companion Sheet

An automated character sheet to track the stats of a Beast Conclave Ranger's Companion.

Using the D&D 5th Edition Rules "Unearthed Arcana: The Ranger, Revised"

I have created this simple spreadsheet to help DM's and Players track Animal Companion stats

Version 4.0 now with Ability Score Buttons! When your Ranger increases Ability scores, so can your companion.

5e Style Character Sheet!

supports All standard Animal Companions;

Ape, Black Bear, Boar, Giant Badger, Giant Weasel, Mule, Panther and Wolf.

I have really been surprised at how generous the donations have been thank you all so much!

Helps Rangers track their Companion's stats:

  • Level
  • AC
  • HP
  • Ability Modifiers
  • Passive Perception
  • Saving Throws
  • Skills
  • Traits
  • To Hit Modifiers
  • Damage Modifiers
  • Beast Conclave Abilities

Simply Enter the Ranger's level, Select Beast from the drop down and the excel wizard does the rest.*

Enjoy.

Hello! I love your work on this but the character sheet does not line up at all with the data when I open it in excel. Is this a weird bug I'm getting?

Which version of excel are you using?
I built this in excel 2010
I have excel 365 now so I could probably rebuild it to be more compatible.
I have several bugs and features to add.
I’m really behind on my DMG projects.
Could you send me a screenshot of the problem to:
Stuartdaly84@gmail.com
If I get some time this weekend i’ll do my best to get this sheet updated

Hi Ethan,
I had a quick look at this.
This may be an issue with "Scale and Layout" display options for Windows 10
If you have 125% or greater zoom it will miss align all the data from the background.
Right Click on Desktop > Display Settings >"Scale and Layout" > 100%
Try that

I love the spreadsheet you created, exactly what one of my friends needed for their ranger. However, I seem to be having issue printing the character sheet tab into a .pdf so that I could print it later on or email it. When I go to print/save the character sheet tab the character image itself doesn't come through and only the numbers and text generated by excel. How would I go about creating a .pdf from the character sheet tab? Thank you!

Excellent, thank you for the quick response. For the time being I was able to copy the selection and paste as an image onto a Word document as a current workaround.

Hi Ozzie.
I’ve had a look at this and it’s a flaw with Excel.
It doesn’t recognize backgrounds as a printable object.
The best Work around is, as you identified, snip the completed sheet to another program and print. I will look at moving this to another format for future versions.
Thanks

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
