Vampire Monk

What would happen if a monk turned into a vampire? The answer is the funnest brawler/utility character you could play with unlimited role playing and quest line potential. Teleportation, turning invisible, immortality, turning your enemies into vampires, charming/dominating, climbing over walls/ceilings, walking on water, regenerating limbs, calling bats/rats/wolves to aid you in battle, over 50ft+ of movement, turning into bats, turning into shadows and turning into a cerberus! This document details a homebrew player character subclass/archetype for the way of the shadow monastic tradition for the monk class. This includes a class table, class features and abilities per level.

This playable character design is basically a way of the shadow monastic tradition 5e monk from the players handbook mixed with a vampire monster from the monster manual. It gets new abilities per level because I hate when you level up and get nothing... I felt like the straight Monk class was a little underpowered when compared with playing others and everyone wants to be a vampire. It may seem overpowered but it has been extensively play tested and has many vulnerabilities which give way to numerous role playing and side quest potential such as including vampire hunters to campaign settings, or being charmed/dominated by the vampire that originally tuned you. With the right DM this character is extremely fun to play and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

You should probably credit Michael Komarck for the art....

Also i would suggest going through your class an additional time... there are many places where your wording is not clear. Read through the players handbook and use their wordings so everybody knows exactly what you mean ;)

Thanks for the feedback Magnus. Will look at cross referencing the Monk class wording from players handbook. Hopefully you got the general gist of all the abilities and enjoy the character!

Edited the product to reflect the wording of official rulebooks. Reads much clearer now and is simple to follow and take straight to a table. also changed art to DM guild available stock. Enjoy!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
