Beware the depths of the sea. The winds howl, the waves crash, but what hides beneath is often the most terrifying.
Both aquatic and coastal characters alike need skills for watery environments, but Dungeons & Dragons is short on such adaptations. This document, themed around sea- and storm-themed options, includes the sharkfolk race with four associated subraces, the Buccaneer base class, which gains Morale Dice in combat and uses them for cunning Gambits, and at least one new class option for use with each of the Player's Handbook base classes as listed below:
- Seareaver: Barbarians who can surge forward in a spray of foam, disrupting their enemies with an explosive landing.
- College of the Depths: Bards who can minimize the dangers found underwater and empower their own cold damage.
- Stormcaller: Bards who amplify their magic with lightning and thunder.
- Travel Domain: Clerics who take to the road, empowering themselves and allies with greater freedom of movement.
- Circle of the Reef: Druids who can grow an armored exoskeleton for combat.
- Marine: Fighters skilled at surprise assaults and holding their ground.
- Way of the Crashing Wave: Monks who wield the waves to dash around the battlefield.
- Oath of the Tidecaller: Paladins who protect coastal communities, using water both to heal and harm.
- Tidal Trickster: Rangers who specialize in piercing weapons and nimble assaults.
- Privateer: Rogues who rely on their letters of authorization to plunder and prowl.
- Heart of the Sea: Sorcerers who tap into the sea's life-giving abundance.
- The Leviathan Below: A warlock patron who wants to pull the world underwater.
- The River King: A warlock patron who feasts on the anguish of others.
- Hydromancer: Wizards who speak to the sea, lashing out with watery tendrils and reshaping water in its place.
Whether you want to stay above the waves or seek adventure under them, you should find these options better in wetter worlds.
