An old elf has wandered into the city from the jungle--prattling on about his long-lost daughter to anyone whose ear he can bend. Though most in Port Nyanzaru dismiss him as mad, he speaks the truth.

Can you find and save his daughter?

A note:

On page 8. there is a two-line poem that might not make much sense without context.

This goes together with the Verses vs. Verses story award in DDAL07-13, "Old Bones And Older Tomes." It might have made sense to put those two lines as a story award here, but it isn't. In any case, a DM planning to run both for the same group should note the connection.

Together, they give a clue relevant on page 10 of DDAL07-14, "Fathomless Pits Of Ill Intent." (Unless it has been corrected, DDAL07-14 contains a typo saying the clue is in DDAL07-12 instead of DDAL07-11.)

Scribbly reviews: DDAL07-11 Lesson in Love
The most ambitious of the 07 T3 series. This adventure offers so many amazing play styles that you don't always get to apprechiate in a time sensitive situation like adventures league. Players real life investigation skills are put to the test as the mission can be failed if they can't locate the missing elf adventurer Dalnira.
Then we journey to a historic location to uncover a sailor's tragic end as only the sea can provide. Rife with moral dilemma and dangers worse then death, with any number of solutions, how much would you give to save the most aggressive victims?
But a warning for the DM's, this one takes a lot of prep time. So be sure and have plenty of time to read through the mod multiple times. Some adventures you can skim through and make up as you go, but this one is complicated. But so worth it.
Characters:
Xalph is a crazy jungle hobo, who's also a high elf. And the main quest giver. This juxtaposition offers plenty of laughs...See more

While it is an enjoyable adventure too much was crammed in for a four hour time slot, not to mention how players are supposed to get to the bottom of thebocean without a water breathing spell. One hour duration potions wont cut it, not to mention availability of said items. Splitting the focus between the dragon turtle and the shipwreck goes far beyond the four hour time limit which is vital for playing at a store or convention.

<spoilers> I just finished DMing this and have played this once before. In both occasions, I found that the amount of story and combat was a bit excessive for the 4-hour timeframe. The story itself was fascinating and brought many parts of the "Chult adventure" to a forefront. As a recommendation, I would say that Section 2A should be removed. Section 2C should be adjusted to make the combat 'only if necessary' and realize that the Sea Elf Elder has 'become fascinated with the issue.' he was kidnapped for. The number of deep lacedons on the ship should be halved. The crabs in the cargo hold should be removed. With these recommendations and adjusting for party strength makes for a timely module that is rich in story and still provides a fair amount of combat and challenge in my humble opinion.

Benoit de Bernardy - if you are interested in making a fantasy grounds module available for download, let me know. I created one for the premiere at ECC.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
