Buried decades ago, the great treasure of the notorious Captain Jadescale is waiting at the Mistcliff.

Though the exact location of the treasure is unknown, it’s said that the owner of the Shore of Dreams has clues about the location, although nothing is ever that straightforward when it comes to treasure.

This was a fantastically fun module. I turned it into a little mini-arc one shot that took about 5 sessions. I just loved the scenery and wanted the characters to bask in it for a little while before being swept away by the twist and dungeon crawl.

Currently preparing to run this and really looking forward to it! I have two questions that I'd love an answer to if possible :)

1. If the players take the potion from Marusa and use it as directed, how are we intended to make up for the big loss of the fun drugging scene? The fact the potion confers advantage on poison saves seems irrelevant if the poison in question automatically grants immunity from falling unconscious. I feel like I'm missing something as this, coupled with the wisdom saves against distraction and the opportunities to catch Scorch doing the deed, mean that it's extremely unlikely that my players will fall unconscious. I know I could cheese it a bit so it's more likely to happen but wanted to check your intentions first, I'm sorry if I've misunderstood something! Do you suggest that they witness somebody else falling unconscious or something like that if it doesn't work?

First of all, thank you for reaching out!

1] Well there is now fun in trusting Murasa and getting the better of the villains, though a lot of groups are starting to doubt everyone, Murasa included, at least from the lots of groups we heard back. The advantage on poison saves is a small addition in case they take the offered potion but do not drink it. If they happen to take the potion isn't them sitting sly on the table of the Shore of Dreams reward enough? Though I am sure that at this point they want to collect evidence and you can still run the (hidden) Wisdom Saving throw. The Shore of Dreams is a lively place after all and I am sure everyone in the know will still try to distract the heroes as much as possible.

2] Unfortunately there is no plain text, though you should be able to quickly copy & paste the PDF in a text or similar word processing document.

Hey there Jo, thank you for reaching out. There is no fixed boss room(so to speak) for Pisca and the text accounts for some permutations. Wether they have been captured by falling for a certain event, or found out what is happening on the island.

Drop her what feels right for the party and what you are going for. Heck, if you think the temple is too much for what you want, there could be a fight at the beach, with Pisca already having claimed a certain prize!

We've heard that a lot like to have a fight (if geared up properly), is in room T2 or T3.

I have just finished DMing this adventure and it was a lot of fun. The artwork is wonderful, onyl I wanted to show players the various handouts as they were meeting the characters and all were wonderful, only in the case of Temerity, they sort of give away she's a possible antagonist (both her arts are really nice but one has her swinging a nunchaku and one puts her into a pretty action pose that doesn't really spell "I am an ordinary waitress"). There is also a small mistake in her statblock - her passive perception should be 15, not 12.
Nonetheless, this adventure is 100% worth it, thank you for the great work.

Can you clarify what lv the party should be more for the adventure. Inside it said 4 to 5 PC behind 5th and 7th lv. My group has 5 PC if it helps. Leaning toward the midpoint of CR 6. Input though from those who ran it would be appreciated.

First of all, thank you so much for purchasing Shore of Dreams. Yes, an APL (average party level) of 6 is the sweetspot. Depeding on party composition it can be done with an APL of 5, and an APL of 7 is more a surefire way. Though I want to stress the deadliness of the trap and the outcome of that pretty much depends on how quick the party can figure out a way to stop the trap in its tracks.

Shore of Dreams is indeed a Print on Demand title, however currently One Book Shelf (the parent company encompassing DriveThruRGP and other sites) are in the process of converting the files, as they recently removed saddle stichted options for perfect bound. The titles will return as Print on Demand, though only after One Book Shelf completed their work. I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused, though this is currently out of my hands.

Hi, I'm planning on running this adventure soon but I am finding the impatient triton event a little confusing. As the party will have already encountered the tempest beast previously below the cliffs at the temple entrance, is there another tempest beast, and if not what was the point in Pisca opening the bar to area T6?

first of all thank you for your purchase and thank you for reaching out. "The Impatient Triton" event is just in case you elect for one specific person to go ahead, which would change the dungeon a bit. You can elect to completely forgo "The Impatient Triton" event if you want to. The tempest beast encountered while climbing down is not the Tempest Beast found within room T6 (as this one is a mother with her two offspring). T6 leads to another location at the island, though not the coast. Sorry for the confusion.

I purchased this module at the beginning of this year and I've gotten a lot of great mileage out of it with Foundry VTT. I have run it three times and should soon run it a fourth. There is a lot of excellent material here and my groups have gone a different route with every adventure!

With how I've been running this adventure, you can easily get three sessions out of this material especially if your players lean into RP and the DM is not afraid to go a bit beyond strictly what is written in the original text. I think 15+ hours of playtime is definitely possible. My groups have generally gotten to the first two rooms of the dungeon by about 4-5 hours.

I love the high quality artwork included with the module. I have bought some of this author's other work on DMsGuild and will likely do so again for their future projects just for it. thank you for your wonderful comment and getting Shore of Dreams. I'm going to address some of SPOILER comments, so you know what thoughts went into the production of Shore of Dreams and the points you addressed in particular.

- to not include a tavern battle map was a hard call. Shore already went (a bit) over budget by going full art. As you aptly pointed out, there are enough third party maps to dub as a tavern and the design is of the tavern is not very hard to run as theatre of the mind. So when we faced the tough decision to either do one or the other, we went with the Temple
- I'm going to put the last two items into one reply as they somehow belong together. Everything T3 and beyond is optional, playtests showed that most of the time the adventure ended with apprehending the villain and few actually dared to go in further. thanks for your purchase. Unfortunately I am not that well versed in Roll20 myself. Since you did not specify on what you are struggling (i.e. do you convert the PDF to image files? The Maps now also come as high res image files. OR do you struggle to put the files into Roll20 itself), it is hard to give advice...

I am running this soon, so these comments are based on my prep. I wish there was an ink-friendly version for printing, and I got a little lost with how the adventure is organized. I wish it was clearly set up around the drugging. For example, I wish there was a section around If the characters fall asleep, and a section for if they did not. Right now, both outcomes are jumbled together.

1] The team actually looked into a nice print friendly version, but it never worked out with a clean layout. So we focused all our energies on the Print on Demand version and adding tokens etc. to this

2] While this was under consideration, the text within AFTERSHOW is miniscule and playtesters actually voted for folding both outcomes together. Though having said this, I think your solution have merits, too.

Thanks though for giving feedback, these comments are still invalueble to me. With your diligent prep, I dearly hope you have a blast of a time running this!

thanks for reaching out. I am in no way a pro when it comes to Roll20 (and i guess in this time we have some influx in players migrating there). According to this page https://wiki.roll20.net/Page_Settings you should be able to set the cell width at 38 px (I checked the cell width for the map myself).

Let me know if that did the trick for you!

That's not correct. It's 70px by default. The grid size and the map size are completely adjustable though. I don't recommend making maps to 100% scale in roll20 because the performance is terrible. I'd rather have a map that's a little stretched than deal with constant scroll and zoom lag. So, my advice for anyone making roll20 maps is to keep it under 1080.

Oh, I was not talking about the default.The grid size of the map bundled with the Shore of Dreams module is 38px, and thus I recommended setting the grid size to 38px. Though I'll admit, maybe I am still missing something and not correctfully understanding your comment, you seem to be much more savvy than I am when it comes to Roll20.

So i just was in Roll20 to check myself, with my described settings of the page; but essentialy set the dimensions of the map in toll 20 to the dimensions of the provided map and set the size of the grid to 38 pixels. It really worked great with minor adjustments on my side. Also you might look into this https://wiki.roll20.net/Aligning_Maps

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
