ADD TO WISHLIST >

Champions of Crown City is the kind of Adventure Path for players who love heroics and derring-do, filled to the brim with larger-than-life characters like the glorious Queen or the wicked Tyrant or even the whimsical and chimerical Chef. As our fair heroes travel throughout Crown City they’ll find a world filled with caricatures dredged out of our common staple of fantasy tropes—the campier the better!

But don’t let the camp keep you from the real story here! Our fair heroes will be swiftly introduced to a world ready to burst with strange horrors, turning this delightful Kingdom into a bastion against the unnatural. Plus, there’s the mysterious and meddling Lonely Hearts Club, and who can say what those dastards are ever up to.

So put on your most dashing outfit, because the Queen needs your help to keep Crown City safe!

Rise of the Champions is written for a brand new party of four 3rd–level adventurers. The Champions have trained their entire lives in all forms of heroics, but when danger rises in their dear Crown City, it's time for the Champions to prepare for save the day! Check out the full preview to find out if this adventure is right for you!

With your support, the excitement will continue in future books of Champions of Crown City, taking characters up through 8th level and leading to endless fame!

I was asked to read through this adventure and provide the author with feedback, so I have read but not purchased the adventure.

I really loved the theme and construction of this adventure! If you and your players are fans of The Princess Bride or Galavant this is an instant purchase!

I was asked to read through this adventure and provide the author with feedback, so I have read but not purchased the adventure. This is a cool adventure and I highly recommend it. It will be a ton of fun, no matter how deeply you go into the theme.

The theme is superbly done. Think of the Princess Bride or similar movies where everything is grandiose. Players make bold claims and have grand stories. Situations are challenging but might have a comical side. NPCs are full of character and have an endearing side or humorous side, even while being a threat. The theme is expertly crafted into every aspect of the adventure, which encourages some fantastic role-playing. This is an excellent adventure for a group of friends or as a showcase convention one-shot, especially for groups who will enjoy roleplaying and playing off the theme.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
