Spell templates. All in png format for ease of size modification. This uses the default 1 inch=5 feet = 1,5 meters scale. So all are usable on standard inch grides. Just print them in real size (don't change the size in printer parameters) on sturdy A4 paper.

If you have difficulties to get the actual 1 inch scale on your printer please try to use softwares like photoshop or paintshop pro to print. Both of them are printing the templates just fine without fine tuning in the software parameters.

Cones get the ratio as in the rules as writen (width=length), it is a 53°08' angle at the top.

40' cone (empty template, ice, hard ice and fire).

55' line (empty template, lightning (2 colors), fire, blacksnow, ice and hard ice).

40' diameter sphere spells (empty template, vines and fire).

web, entangle and grease on gride.

Magical fist on gride.

Hunger of the Ancient and Tentacles of the Ancient.

Storm and great Ancient Heldritch Blast.

Sanctuary, Protection from good and evil, Poison spray on gride.

sanctuary and Protection circle on simple png for ease of resizing.

grid for square shaped spells.

Spiritual hammer and sword, 1 square sized.

Fireball and firecone without grid.

Hi, you will have to use transparency film for overhead projector. make sure your printer is compatible with them and wait a few hours before putting your fingers on the ink.

I think the graphics are great. However, the sizes of some are off. Namely, "hunger of the ancient" is 4 squares across, but the spell (name different do copyrights) is a 20-foot-radius sphere. That would be 8 squares across.

Just added a fireball and fire cone without grid. And a little bonus : a spiritual sword and hammer 1 square size for your clerics.

Hello - just purchased - love the art style. Is it possible to get a version where the spell art and grid are separate layers or objects for printing without the grid lines?

Hi there, Just a question on sizing.

When you say "Print them on real size paper" do you just mean standard A4 size? Might be worth adding the actual paper size if so as its a little more descriptive.

Hi, good idea, by "in real size" i mean "don't change the size in the printer parameters". The size of the paper is the standart A4.

New ! just dowload the "template.zip" file. It include all the templates with the new "Magical fist" (oversized version and on gride). These templates are all recentered. just print them in real size 100%.
I'm planning do deliver more templates in the future so stay tuned.
Thank you for your support !

Concerning the entangle sphere : it is the D&D2 spell effect. I will give you the 5ed version in the following version.

Awesome! Can't tell you how happy I was when I saw your templates. Honestly I was kinda surprised when I tried searching for them and pretty much only came back with someone selling a pack on transparencies for $50. When I saw you had the spell effects on it as well I was SOO happy and my kids love it. You did awesome work and get around to the updates when you can. ^_^

You can also use my spell tokens (https://www.dmsguild.com/product/241536/Some-spell-tokens)
They are build for virtual tabletop RPGs but you can edit them and resize them with Photoshop.
The definition won't be has good has the templates though.

Could I make a suggestion in that you put in the description the scale you are using? Newbies like me might make the mistake of using the wrong scale for their grids. A simple "This uses the default 1 inch=5 feet scale." The blank cone only has meters listed and not the feet so it wasn't until I opened up one of the others that it had the feet listed on the template.

There is one problem with these. I'm not sure why but all the images are way to far to the left making it so that they are bleeding off the paper significantly. On a lark I threw the PDF into Photoshop and was able to move everything over with no issues and it printed just fine. The first time I printed it a huge chunk got cut off unless I selected "fit" for print area, which reduced the size around 95%. Could you scoot the images over to be centered?

One last thing, you have a sphere with entangle but it's actually a 20ft square not a 20ft diameter sphere, that's a huge difference. Could you change...See more

May i suggest releasing them as png files? Or at lest could you center the images of the bigger ones like the fireball? I had to clip it and reprint using gimp since the printer kept cropping a bit the left side (comprehensible since it's 20cm on a 21cm wide a4)

I really like the art you've done on these. As for the cones, the difference is probably minimal but to have the width at any point equal the length along the edges, the angle should be an even 60 degrees. The "cone" would be an equilateral triangle at any distance. looking forward to giving them a go though!

Thank you so much for your kind word. In fact it is not the length of the edges but the lenght of the cone (center of the base to the point of the cone, so it is a weird 53°+) that we have to use.

I think he made h=l in an isosceles triangle where l=base so it isn't an equilateral triangle therefore the angle is nor 60°

in the player handbook, RAW : width of the cone = lenght of the cone (the lenght of a cone is the center of the base to the point of the cone). So, RAW, it is this weird 53°08'.

I'm planning to had new effects at a later time.
Using advice :print the templates on transparent plastic paper, cut them, then use laminating pouch on them to make them sturdy and durable.
Alternatively you can print them on sturdy paper.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
