The mechanics playtest document has been updated to v0.2 - here are the update notes, also available at the end of the document.

Changes in v0.2:

Added update log.

Restored terms for [spelljamming].

Moved around sections for more efficient format placement.

Added text under Helm Activation to explain what happens when multiple helms are activated on the same vessel but are not designed to work in unison with each other. “If a helm is already active on a vessel and another helm is activated on the same vessel, or if multiple helms are activated simultaneously on the same vessel, the helm with the highest spell slot of ki point value spent for its activation is given priority, and the other helms are deactivated. Helms designed to work with other helms (such as an Illithid Series Helm) are an exception to this rule.”

Changed third paragraph’s opening words in Helm Activation from “Once the helm is activated” to “While in contact...See more with an active helm”.

Added the following note to the Chase entry under Sample Operations: “NOTE: In order to match or exceed the speed of a target being chased, the helm operator might have to spend more spell slots or more ki points, and make additional mobility checks to increase speed. In the case of chasing a target through an area lain with obstacles, increasing max speed may increase the probability of crashing, so maintaining current speed, if manageable, and relying solely on maneuvering to evade crashes, is a generally acceptable practice for safety and survival.”

Added note to Interception entry under Sample Operations: “NOTE: Your current maximum tactical speed (see Travel and Movement) must be equal to or higher than the target when attempting Interception.”

Added Coordinated Movement to Sample Operations entry.

Added sentence to tactical speed description in Travel and Movement entry. “A spelljamming vessel’s maximum tactical speed is dependent on the size of the vessel, as well as the energy used to power its flight.”

Tweaked added durations for Helms.

Renamed “Helm Activation Chart” to “Hyper Speed Chart”.

Added “Tactical Speed Chart”.

Added Tactical Speed Travel entry.

Updated sentence in Hyperspeed Travel entry, adding the words “up to”, and changing 1d6 to 1d8: “If you fail on the roll, you successfully travel up to 1d8 times 10% less than the Max. Hyper Speed due to adjustments and course corrections having to be made.”

Added Astral Sea Travel entry.

Added text to Shield HP entry in Helm Templates section: “SPECIAL: Shield HP are ignored by attacks against the vessel made from inside its bubble or an overlapped bubble.”

Vampiric Helm is now Lifejammer Helm.

Lifejammer Helm (formerly Vampiric Helm) now absorbs Hit Dice before Hit Points (if applicable). Added additional text explaining what happens to creatures that die while attached to an active Lifejammer Helm.

Added box text “Theory of Helms”.

I've just updated the Realmspace Traveler's Guide preview (now one L instead of two) to version 1.2 - the new added lore attempts to fill the gap between Phlogiston travel and Astral Sea travel for spelljamming; the mists of Ravenloft, the connecting of Magic the Gathering planes to the DnD multiverse, and the visuals for the 5e Spelljammer trailer were inspirations for the gap filler.

Update Notes:

Adds new page of terms at the end of basic terms and facts, bridging lore about the cosmology for spelljamming.

Restores terms for spelljamming to main document, now that the setting is officially open on DMsGuild.

Updates Phlogiston entry, at the end explaining how Psionics are amplified in the environment and why.

When will the full version be released?

After receiving instructions from the site admin and making adjustments, the Preview is now v1.1a and all previous versions have been removed.

Current documents are now Realmspace Preview v1.1a and Hyperspeed Playtest.

An updated version of this title is now available. In addition, the playtesting for the spelljamming system to be featured in the full version has begun. A spelljamming prototype document has been added to the product - feel free to post feedback and suggestions on the product page.
