What is City and Wild?
This supplement was created to give more options for roleplaying regarding what characters can do in the city and expanding what happens when they're exploring the wilderness and other dangerous places. This supplement also includes new rules for collecting materials (and crafting things with them), and some modular rules for guilds and structures.

---------------------------------------------------------

What's inside?

This 87-pages document is divided in three parts, and each of these includes various features divided in Chapters.

Part 1: The City

- New equipment, some store tables ready to be used in your games.

- A modular structure system for allowing your players to build their own personalized structure.

- A guild system: create new guilds, rank up, gain benefits and a guide for creating guild contracts.

Part 2: The Wild

- Some guidelines and new rules for surviving in the wild, plus a basic system for camping and creating a shelter.

- Dangers of the wild: new environmental hazards to challenge your adventurers while traveling in the wild, such as rogue waves, lava fields, elemental clouds and more. There's also new special terrains to create more challenging areas.

Part 3: Complete Crafting

- New rules for collecting materials from creatures, plants, mines, and more.

- A simple modular crafting system and over 20 materials and their properties (plus over 40 new plants for alchemical uses).

- An alchemy system for creating bombs, poisons and potions in an easy way.

- New guidelines and properties for quickly creating new magic items.

In addition, there's an appendix with the parts of creatures found in the Monster Manual you can extract using the collecting materials system you can find in this document

---------------------------------------------------------

What changed since the previous version? (1.1)
The previous version included new customization options for players (my alternate humans race, several new armor and weapons, new magic items, and a few more things). The latest part also included some new creatures and NPCs for your adventures. Now all of these content is gone. Why? I've been playing and using this supplement for a while in my campaigns, and I felt those parts of the supplement didn't helped with the core of this guide, which is to try to improve the adventuring, the time between the adventures and roleplaying in both urban and the wilderness. I think character options doesn't fit much in that. Still, you can download the previous version to have all of this.

---------------------------------------------------------

What will come next?
I'm not sure what will come next to this guide. With the new alchemy system I was also working in some Oils for weapons (something like The Witcher 3 weapon oils), but I still need to work on it. The surviving section in the wilderness could have some improvements too (something like rules for creating pieces of equipment using the materials in the wild).

Comments below this talk about kopesh and katana being in this work. Surely katana is covered in longsword and kopesh in shortsword? I am at least glad you don't seem to have been fooled into the 'katanas are the greatest swords ever and can cut through anything' misinformational idea.

I mentioned this in a Reddit comment a while back, but the Poisons here should be applying the Poisoned condition like the DMGs poisons in addition to the secondary/main effect of the poison itself. That way creature's immune to the Poisoned Condition are not affected by these. For example, you could word one of the poisons as followed:

"A creature subjected to this poison must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or become poisoned for 10 minutes. The poisoned creature becomes incapacitated and spends the duration screaming, laughing, or weeping while poisoned in this way."

Is this release going to be updated? Or are users to use the version found on Reddit? I was under the understanding that once a document is uploaded to DM's Guild, then it couldn't be uploaded anywhere else? Or has this policy changed?

Ignacio great work, your book is great!
The most updated version is this on Dmsguild or the ones in your blog or on Reddit?

Thanks in advance!

Something I've noticed is that the Katana deals 1d6 Slashing, Finesse, Versatile (1d8). Doesn't this just make it worse in every way than a Rapier or a Shortsword?

I am sorry but I disagree on your kopesh. it should not be 1d6 damage, it should be 1d8 since a kopesh though looks like a bent sword is closer to a battle axe in that is it a hacking weapon.

I had believed a kopesh to be shaped that way for defensive(hooking) purposes. Whilst that may sound dumb, if you research medieval single-edged swords, you will realise that a sword/axe combo is a terrible idea. They are balanced at opposite ends, so you could at best make a compromise that is neither accurate and nimble nor packing great force behind its blows.

Definitely, a khopesh is designed to provide superior locking/disarming. The blade isn’t at all designed to be used like an axe.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
