I could have SWORN that I already asked this.. I'm scratching my head at whether to buy the PDF and rip out the images for use in my VTT, or buy the FG version, and rip the resources out of that. Kindly give me a heads up on which would yield the best gridless maps, and/or top-down tokens or anything of the like.

I see you've got a part 2 and a part 3 now, so I'll be buying the whole mess when I do it. :D

Hi James,

I've never used FG, so I can't advise you on how easy it is to take the images from that. If you're well-acquainted with that VTT, I'd probably recommend buying that version.

Sorry I can't be more useful!

Nah, I refuse to support FG myself. I enjoy getting elbow deep in to MapTool and making it awesome. I support Foundry as well. I won't support VTT software developers like Roll20 and FG, who ignore what the system needs and only develop features to make more cash.

Anyway, you're right, more likely the FG packs will have more VTT oriented (scaled) maps and content, I just wanted to check first. The weird thing is, I thought I already asked a while ago and was waiting for a response. I just stumbled across your titles again, and remembered that I thought I wanted them anyway, lol!

I'll go ahead and ask on the FG product and see how they respond. ;)

Question for you. In Red Riding's Hood, what exactly is the Floater? Is it a small set of floating eyes? What's the connection to the girl? And if it's just eyes, what is it howling from and how does it XXX? I'm so confused.

Hi Kyle, The Floater is the dead wolf. Have a look at the statblock section in 'The Creation' for more info.

Ohhhhhhhhh. It's the missing head of the wolf. I didn't quite get that. I saw that they could find the wolf was missing its head (if they succeeded on a check) but then a "floater" attacked. I didn't put them together. The associated picture was just eyes, so I couldn't figure it out. Thanks for clarifying. This makes more sense.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
