SILVER

— Character Sheet for Dungeons & Dragons, 5th edition

clean design • compact • easy use • lots of freedom

The SILVER character sheet is an alternative to the standard Dungeons & Dragons character sheet provided in the Player Handbook.

I wanted to create a character sheet that held lots of information while still being compact and easy to use.
For this I came up with a clean and undistracting design that still gave a lot of freedom to the user.

* This character sheet is primarily intended and designed for print (physical uses).

FEATURES:
• Clean and compact, minimalist design.
• Maximum freedom for the user.
• The right most column can be folded back. This reduces the size of the sheet and saves some valuable space at the table.
• Tool-tips with rule descriptions.

EXTENDED FEATURES:
(Accessed by clicking the ‘SHOW BLUE’ button at the top left of the sheet.)
• Auto-calculation of modifiers and health. (Can be disabled)
• Buttons to easily increase and decrease ability scores.
• Option to import a picture.

USER GUIDE

BANNER: The banner at the top left can be used to write down the initials of the player.
SPEED: There are two fields for speed. You can, of course, use these however you want. The seconds fields original intend is for secondary speed like flying or swimming.
HIT DICE: By clicking the front of one of the bars you can indicate which hit die is associated with your first level. This can be important in case of multi-classing.
SAVE DC: There is a extra field here in case the player requires a different save DC for some of their actions.
FATIGUE: In the rule books this is called ‘exhaustion’. I couldn’t find a way to fit the word into the box, so that is why it’s called ‘fatigue’ here.
EXPERTISE: For skill expertise you want to click next to the circle that marks the skill proficiency. An ‘X’ should appear over the circle to indicate expertise.
HIGHLIGHT: This button will highlight all locations where a tool-tip with a definition of the applying rules can be found.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
