Sorry in advance if I missed it somewhere else but what size/ratio would I print the map files at to result in a playmat with a 1" grid?

Hi, thanks for the support! The maps are available in two versions, black and white and colored, both in high resolution for your convenience, and can be used in programs such as Fantasy Grounds or Roll20. If you prefer to print them, you will need to configure accordingly depending on the program used and the paper size. Typically the program itself has tools to make it easier to preview the print, with Photoshop you can change the size of the image by adjusting the grid size to 1 inch as desired and the program will show how many sheets will be needed.

Thanks for the reply!
I think I'm going to take the colour maps to Staples and see if they can print them poster sized.

I plan on running this on Halloween next month, because I think it will be a lot of fun, and my friends and I are all Poe fans (we are in Baltimore).

One thing I'm wondering about is how to handle the players that pass the Constitution save for the mist seeing the real mansion and the others seeing the lively (fake) version, without telling everyone what everyone else sees. Maybe write it on notes and hand them out?

Thanks for the support! I'm glad to hear that! Regarding notes, I think it depends on how your group usually deals with the metagame, and how much you think would spoil their disbelief. In my experience, there are groups where it is best to use notes or text messages to keep everyone curious, in others they do not work very well, but players often correctly represent what their characters are experiencing... Maybe just choose that strategy that seems more fun! ;)

I really like this module, and I think the puzzles are extremely clever, there seems to be either one thing missing or that I'm not understanding. I'm unclear exactly how the players are meant to be able to deduce the weights of any unfound heads, or the weight for the 10th scale.

If the player knows the missing letter, he can just add weight gradually until the display shows the desired letter. He can guess the remaining letters by deduction, analyzing the clues scattered throughout the mansion. Thanks for the feedback, I'll rewrite this part so it gets better explained. On the weight of the missing head, it should weigh the same as Euripides's head (because it's the same letter). The characters can also use the balance in the secret library to measure their equivalent weight in books, for example. Thanks very much for the support!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
