CCC-SRCC01-02 Down the River of Snakes

ADD TO WISHLIST >

The yuan-ti have a demented scheme to bring the most vulnerable denizens of the small town of Ylraphon under their sway. Can the adventurers traverse the Flooded Forest, one of the most dangerous areas of wilderness in all Faerûn, in time to stop the machinations of the serpent god’s fanatical priest?

About Mount Ogden Gaming Company

MOGC is a group of gamers that decided to jump in and take advantage of the CCC program offered by Wizards of the Coast. The adventures we create support the conventions we organize and participate in through the Rocky Mountain RPG Guild. We also work with Under the Wing Gaming who runs our social media campaigns and community outreach. Finally, yet importantly Raven+Moon Co. provides our layout and design when we want our modules to have that extra pop.

While we work with local authors, we also work with Guests of Honor and brand new authors looking to mark publishing a D&D adventure off their bucket list. We look for a diverse group of people in the D&D community globally to work with regardless of experience or background in the industry.

A 2-hour adventure for 1st-4th level characters (optimized for 3rd level)

Does this module include the CERTS for magic items? Also, is this version newer than 3.0?

A player at my table's old S7 character is running around with the Foxblade, and I've heard that it was changed, which these comments confirm.
Though would you perhaps be willing to tell me what the changes are, due to the module we have at the shop isn't up to date.

This contains the first map of Ylraphon from the first part of the adventure, but does not contain the map described as containing Ylraphon, the Altar of the Smoldering Eye and the Elven Watch Tower. This is kind of a significant oversight.

Are you referring to the map described as being handed to the PCs on page 6? That overworld map was never intended to be included as a handout. It only exists so we know that the characters have an idea where they are going.

It's very frustrating that the next installment isn't available. It feels like this should have been a 4 hour adventure instead of a pair of 2s. This adventure really just ends at what should be the middle of a 4 hour adventure.

The next installment is available, and has been all along. It is this: http://www.dmsguild.com/product/223041/CCCSRCC0103-Altar-of-the-Smoldering-Eye

Even the DM who ran it thought the next part wasn’t available. Maybe linking to the next part in the description instead of other adventures would have made more sense.

I stand by my statement that this should never have been a pair of two hour adventures. The break point is unsatisfying and awkward because the hook is all about going into the temple and that never happens in this adventure. This adventure ends like the first Hobbit movie—abruptly in the middle of the story half way to the actual objective it just packs up and says, “We’re done.”

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
