I'm really hoping you'll have maps up quickly for DDAL07-03 through -05, having played them at a convention recently. Please let me know if you need additional testers! :D

Hi, I quite liked using your map, thanks! One query- in my VTT version of 7-01-2 (the arena), the numbers 2 and 3 are in the same square, and unless I'm mistaken in how the steps work, is there an extra un-numbered square in this (the one prior to 5)?

Hi! The numbers don't actually refer to the sections but to the lines dividing them - so players need to cross the line near number 2 to be at 2 and the line near number 3 to be at 3, hope that helps! Will be updating them at some point for clearer references there :D

I love it, as my review shows, but I'm curious - how are folks using 7-01-3? The location of the final encounter is fairly obvious but I'm thinking more about the first encounter and what comes between the two. (Trying to minimize spoiler potential here...)

I designed it with ledges as markers for the three encounters but am curious about how people worked it (I used dynamic lighting to section it off and the players laughed when I said "you've been travelling in the dimly lit jungle for hours but it all feels like the same 30ft area")

Really love the maps! Is it possible to get 72 dpi jpeg versions for those of us playing on Roll20 or other digital platforms?

The current VTT maps can be used directly - for sizing in roll20, just follow the quick text file included and for Fantasy Grounds, I have included a square that is the size of a single grid on the gridless version for FG set up :)

Oh great, I didn't know what the VTT file was. Everything else was taking over an hour to download from DMsGuild. Thanks!

The pdf files are labeled as print maps while the zip is labeled online vtt, hope that helps :) 300dpi 1 inch grid maps are huge, lol, so the pdfs are massive.

Mission 1 - map 2
Expecting extra chamber after double doors.

Based on the text description for "the Final Twist", the double doors lead to a final stretch of hallway that ramps up to a set of stairs to the harbor exit.

There is no second chamber but simply a ramp and an archway at the end (this way when the DM reads off the descriptions/block text the player knows exactly where they are)

Thanks for the reply. I ran some of the module last night and the group loved your maps! I wondered if it was you that had signed up to play. :)

In order to run the module as written I'd expect the door and the archway to be two different things - with the archway leading to the area with the crate. The description for this part isn't block text, but at the end of the text for this section.

Similarly, Mission 4 describes secret doors. Would you consider making them less obvious?

Finally, Mission 5 continues into the area behind the bathhouse, but the map stops too short to perform this encounter with adequate room.

It's great to have such beautiful maps to run the module on, and it is much easier than having to make them (since the ones in the module are no use to show players - they have all the traps on etc.). Thanks for putting these together. It would be great to tweak them so that they are fully ready to go.

I did intend to play - unfortunately and making maps for 7-02 led to massive sleep deprivation, lol

Completely missed the small alcove somehow under harbor exit *facepalms* I read it as the double doors leading into the passage to the harbor exit, which has the ramp and the building is aboveground and offscreen as the final battle occurs at the exit point - it may very well be up to interpretation, though.

Will look into making the doors invisible over the weekend.

By map stopping too short, do you mean the exit to the back itself or on the combat area at the back surrounded by trees?I could eliminate some trees to expand the area there.

Happy they could be put to use :D I wish I could have been there, but totally crashed >_>

D&D should come with a health warning: May impact your sleep pattern!

Mission 1 - the alcove at the end is less critical (though it is mentioned in the text) but the desk and crate there are important as these contain stuff.

Mission 5 - I've downloaded the new maps to double check (extra goodness for Mission 4, thanks) and behind the bathhouse is area C, where an encounter should take place. This currently cuts out just 10ft. down, there's not room for the various pieces to interact there. I expected a full sized area, walled off all around.

Hope you're catching up on your sleep now!

The maps created are based on the text descriptions in the 7-01 module so DMs can run their games quickly and smoothly, often using a single map for each mission.

Maps for missions can be split into sections using dynamic lighting on roll 20 so the multiple encounters can be run without switching to a random map. The same can be achieved locally via the print versions by hiding sections of the maps.

Any feedback would be appreciated, thank you.

Maps appear to be 200 DPI, not 300, presuming the squares on the grid are one inch. Can anyone else confirm? Won't be much of an issue in quality, but may throw off printing size if you think it's 300 DPI. As an example, map 7-01-1-1 has 26 squares and is 5168 pixels wide.

The maps are 300 dpi for print quality but the grid is not set to 1 inch since I started these before I got my new PC and the old computer could not handle rendering the images at that scale. So the grid is smaller but the maps are still at 300dpi.

Hoping to increase scale with future maps for 1 inch grids though.

It has premiered at a few conventions, I got to be the DM for this module at one of them. It is probably how she had them ready to go.

Jose is correct, got a chance to purchase them earlier due to a convention, which was the only way to have them ready for publication on release day.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
