I am thinking about using this module for my super magic item buffed party of 13-14s (they can take on ancient dragons). that is going through Dungeon of the Mad Mage. They decided they think they are powerful enough to turn back and fight Xanathar. How well do you think this would go with WD:DH/WD:DMM? Is the CR rating appropriate?

It's made for a party of four 17+ level characters. It's packed with challenging encounters. However, it would certainly blend with WD/DMM and I'd just tweak the monsters. Depending on the size of the party, I'd also bring in some NPCs to help.

Cool. Thanks for getting back to me so fast. Yeah I'm not lowering the difficulty/adding allies. If they die its not on me; their fault for wanting to take on a whole city. Maybe they'd make good slaves if it does turn out to be too hard for them so losing may not be the end. I love all the detail in it and it blends well with DMM/DH.

You're welcome. As a DM I'm all about consequences, so I get it :) We'll have more adventures coming out later this year and we'll focus on improving the layout.

I've been looking for a campaign like this for awhile now. How difficult would it be to adapt this to an evil campaign? My idea was that the group of characters used to work for Xanathar and we're royally screwed over by him and want revenge.

Interesting idea. You could easily substitute an evil party into the story. The Xanathar has some rivals in the story, you could tie the group in with them as well.

How much time should be allowed for this adventure?

8-10 hours minimum. This is an adventure, not an encounter :) We provide tools for all our adventures to play a sandbox style and add even more to the story.

FYI, I noticed the following in your preview: "Leaders: Laeral Silverhand (female human, 19th level
wizard/7th level ranger, CG)" You can'y have 26 levels in 5e, the maximum is 20. Unless you area suggesting this adventure requires the use of one the epic level products on the DMs guild, in which case that should probably be noted up front

Thanks. Changed it to 13th level wizard/7th level ranger. We do use that epic level product in my group, must have rubbed off on me.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
