Fog Over Dawnwilde - A Level 1 Adventure & Starter Village

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Welcome to Dawnwilde.

The once-prosperous village has been overcome by an oppressive fog that has lasted for seven years. With the fog came death and devastation. To make matters worse, young girls from the village have been disappearing.

In an adventure that's full of action, intrigue and roleplay, can you solve the mystery of the fog and save Dawnwilde?

About the Adventure

Fog Over Dawnwilde is a 10-15 hour vampire-centric adventure for 1st Level players that could take them as far as 3rd Level

The adventure comes with a richly-developed starter village populated by a variety of unique and interesting NPCs. On top of that, this document is full of hand-drawn maps, some which can be used as in-game props.

Your purchase comes with the full color version seen in the preview and a printer-friendly copy.

UPDATE (2020/05/04): New title, new cover art, edited content. The town's name has been changed in this new version from the original, "Blackpool" to the new, "Dawnwilde." The module formerly used Jeff Brown's cover art from Godbound, but now features an original piece by Cat Long. Additionally, the document has been thoroughly reviewed, and many minor mistakes have been corrected.

This is terrific entry level adventure. The story is interesting, and the layout is well done. While there is no FG module, I'm creating one for my personal use (I'll be stretching my FG skills here). The included b&w maps are good too. I recommend it if you are looking for a low-level adventure.

Can the maps be downloaded without the room numbers for players to see? Thanks.

Wow, what a cool adventure; I'd enjoy running this one online. Is there a Fantasy Grounds version available, or one in the works? Thanks.

In the section about Maramar, you use the Tortson heading a second time.

Thank you! I'm using this as the first adventure for my new podcast. http://odndpodcast.com if that's ok? I'll be shouting it out and linking to it every episode.

That's totally okay! I'm going to check out your podcast. I only know my own experience with this adventure from when I played it with my own party. I'm excited to hear how a different party deals with the challenges!

Page 36? My download goes from page 35 to 37 and the text doesn’t flow so I don’t think it’s a page numbering issue.

You're right! That's such an important page too... Oops. I'll try to get a new document up by tonight. If you need it sooner than that, the missing information should be there in the printer friendly version.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
