In the crafting section, I see a specific measure of how to use units to create items of special materials, but I don't see an outline discussing common items. Am i just missing it? for instance, if i have 4 units of hide harvested from a common animal, how many units does it take to create one set of common armor? does it still use the same measurements as special items?

Both common and special-material items use the same amount of units for creating them (unless the DM says the contrary). Still, I recommend you to check the City and Wild document I've created because that one have the most updated and balanced version of everything in this homebrew.

This may be a dumb noob Q, but I'm new enough to AL to need to ask: are the items and rules in this guide OK to use for an Adventurer's League character--or is using them forbidden?

Since this ruleset is not official nor asociated with the Adventurer's League, I think you can't use these. You can read more about these in the official WOTC link:

Really cool guide. Just noticed though it looks like there is a typo on the gauntlet description. Says Prize where im guessing you meant price.

Did you ever upload a reorganized version?

Most of the content of this homebrew is now included in the City and Wild supplement I've created, which you can find it here in DMSguild as PWYW, so feel free to check it out that homebrew. There're some rules and guidelines that were changed due balancing, so make sure you check if anything changed.

As you state: "Special thanks to /u/calculuschild, since he gave me permission to use his "Alchemist's Supplies" as base for the alchemy system on this guide" Would be nice if you had included a link either in the description or the document itself.
Also the document as a whole is great but the actual alchemy section feels underwhelming, lots of detail on where to collect and how but the actual potions crafting provided a limited list of potions/effects

I'll add the link on that description. In the meantime, here's the link of it:

For the potions, I'm currently working on expanding a bit more by dividing the effects in sections based on the artisans tools you use: alchemist tools for bombs, herbalism kit for potions and poisoner's kit poisons, and I'll see if its viable to make a more modular system rather than fixed effects.

thanks for the reply!

Rules Edition(s)
Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
