Mirrored Thrones

ADD TO WISHLIST >

A group of disparate heroes have been brought together to decide the fate of the city of Neverwinter. This is a tale of battle and intrigue. The heroes must learn who they can trust as they stir events that will bring the city to a turning point. Who is the new Lord Protector of Neverwinter? Are the tales of deception, corruption, and assassination true? As for the rebels that toil against the Lord Protector, who is their leader, she who seems to have entered the stage from nowhere? Only the heroes, caught in this roiling sea of masked truths, can put things to rest in Neverwinter.

Mirrored Thrones consists of four adventures, which can be played through sequentially or used as one-shots. Each adventure is scaled for a different level of player character: the first adventure is for 1st-level characters, the second for 3rd-level, the third for 7th-level, and the fourth for 11th level. Each adventure takes approximately 3 to 5 hours to complete. The adventures feature different styles of play, from a standard dungeon crawl to an open-ended infiltration of an enemy base.

I hope you enjoy the module!

Do players need to level up between the adventures? Or will they be leveling throughout 1 to 11?

Still reading through the module, but can i suggest on the maps that you put the scaling? Is one square = 5ft or more? Also a compass would be good as well. I may want to use these online via VTT (roll20/Fantasy Grounds).

Thanks!

Ah! Good point! I'll modify the standalone map files for at least Karlok's Dungeon and reupload them tonight or tomorrow. I should be able to add a compass to the map of Neverwinter, but the other ones...maybe not.

For reference until the new maps are uploaded, the squares for Karlok's dungeon are 5 feet each. The map of Castle Never is 10 feet per square (although I didn't create that one with scale in mind since I intended for it to represent the space that the party would be exploring, rather than serve as a battle map).

Just fyi, Terrelle, I uploaded updated files for the chapter 1 and 2 maps. The chapter 1 maps now include a note at the bottom right which denote that each square equals 5 feet. For the chapter 2 maps, I replaced the no-grid map with a different version that includes map elements such as scale and a compass (that's thanks to the map's artist, Bastian, who included them).

Hope this helps :)

Very well done, I will be using this for a one shot tomorrow night. One question Is there a map for chapter 3?

Thank you! No, there is not a map for chapter three. I usually run theater of the mind style games, so my maps tend to serve as overviews of a space rather than straight-up battle maps (much like the maps included for chapters two and four). Chapter three's layout is relatively simple, so I didn't feel the need to make a map for it.

Obviously, since Karlok's Dungeon is a more complex layout, I provided a gridded battle map for that dungeon. That's the exception, though.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
