Return from Adventure

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Return From Adventure RFA-01 takes place in the campaign setting Forgotten Realms but can easily adapt to any fantasy medieval world. It is the first module in a campaign in which the player characters traverse a wide and dangerous landscape on their return home to the Sword Coast after having found adventure in the eastern lands of Kara Tur.

In this adventure the players find refuge from cold winter nights at a sleepy fur company outpost, but there is no rest for the weary as adventure quickly unfolds.

The complete series will take the player characters from the Great Ice Sea, through the Hordelands, into ancient Thay, across the Sea of Fallen Stars, and delve into political intrigue on the Sword Coast.

Feedback and comments: Michael, hello.

I have been a DM for 40 years. I like the basic cover art. for 2$, you are not paying a name Artist like Elmore. A few things jump out at me. Nowhere on the cover or in the description does it say which edition of D&D this adventure is designed to be used with.

I am guessing 5th edition? Please say that.

Suggestions:

For Use With D&D(R) 5th Edition
"An Adventure for 4 Characters, Level 3" Something like that.

Your text is clean, well laid out, lots of white space. You could use some flavor pictures of snowy terrain. I know it is hard to get across with white on white, but a picture is worth a thousand words, it doesn't cost you for public domain, and you are not paying an artist to execute it.

I liked the two maps, both with winter flavor.

I would run the whole thing through a grammar check. Getting Started was very concise and to the point.....See more

Thanks for leaving a detailed review. Check out On Thin Ice and Roads to Ruin for the next adventures in the series. I'm writing part 4, (working title) King Nothing now. Parts 1-3 are railroad/set piece quests and part 4 is pure sandbox. The NPC list is quite large. I expect this series to run about 7 modules and take the characters from level 3 to level 7.

Hello, this is Michael, the author. This is my first self published adventure module on DMs Guild (with more to come). I'd appreciate any feedback and comments. The second adventure will be out this summer.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
