Specialty Priests of Faerûn

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Fifth edition cleric domains don’t always deliver the depth or flavor needed to portray a priest of a specific god. With the vast variety of portfolios depicted in the Faerûnian pantheon, it can be difficult to find a domain that fully matches a god’s character.

But now, with Specialty Priests of Faerûn, I offer 48 cleric domains, each one personalized and built for every god found in the Sword Coast Adventurer’s Guide. From the Air Domain of Akadi to the Trade Domain of Waukeen, you can find a fun, flavorful domain for any major (and minor) god of Faerûn. These domains are all unique, created with a solid conception of the deity’s abilities, attitudes, history, and portfolio, and they are designed so that you can finally play a true devotee of any Forgotten Realms god.

Inspired by the specialty priests of 2nd edition and the myriad of domains found in 3rd edition, many of the abilities and features were inspired or converted from either Faiths and Avatars (2E) or Player’s Guide to Faerûn (3.5E). I have attempted to keep many of the well-known, defining features and spells from throughout the history of the game to retain this feeling of authenticity in play. Accompanying the 48 cleric domains are seventeen converted spells, most of which are classics of the god, like shield of Lathander or fantastic machine.

I hope that this wide selection of domains helps to enhance and inspire your cleric play experience.

Please check out my other DM's Guild products as well.

Updated 2017-12-28 (v2): Added Joy domain (Lliira) that was inadvertently excluded from previous version; updated domain spell lists to include appropriate spells from Xanathar's Guide to Everything.

I'm confused by this resource. Are they actually specialty priests or just expanded domains? Thanks!

They are cleric domains for 5e that are meant to recreate some of the feel for the 2e specialty priests

Thank you for explaining, that helps. Any plans to include Shaundakul? I've been trying to Homebrew something but unfortunately I'm not very creative. I know he was granted portals but not not sure how to also reflect his explorer/rangery aspects.

Version 2 is mainly an update to include spells from Xanathar's Guide to Everything. There was also a missing domain (Lliira) in version 1.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
