Are there maps available without the grids? I ask because the grids are not perfectly square, so resizing the map in a way that works for something like roll20 is tough. Thanks.

Hey Kelsey, looks like a really cool adventure! I would like to use it as my first oneshot to my friends (and also my first experience as a dm!), and maybe thats a newbie question, but - you wrote that it fits to a party of level 5s. but how many players? i have 3 players in my party, do you think it is enough? if not, would making their characters level 6 work?

Hi Lidor! :) Sorry for the delay. Good question on party size -- I may need to update this to specify somewhere how many I meant! I wrote this one for a group of 4-5 players, so you might want to give your group some NPC helpers or sidekicks. Alternatively, I'd cut any group combat by about one third the number of enemies if you want to stick with three players, but this adventure's combats will still be very challenging in that situation!

I'm not sure if this is just me reading it wrong but I can't figure out how the PCs can scale the wall and enter through a window into a stairwell between areas 1-4 if the stairs don't touch the outside wall or is the map just drawn wrong?

I had some real-world basis for this that I now can't remember... maybe the Tower of Hercules in A Coruña? In either case, I'd assume the stairwell between the two depicted floors has long and narrow recessed windows that let some natural light in!

Hi Kelsey! Super excited to run this for a couple of friends this week, looks like ANOTHER great module from Arcane Eye! I'm looking at the module, but I don't see a reference to the Eelfolk Stormcaller before the stat block in the appendix. Where do they fit into the story module?

Hi Sam! The Stormcaller is just a bonus creature -- no presence in the module, unless you want to scale the adventure up to be more difficult! :)

What a fantastic short campaign!! Played this on a beach vacation with friends, and it was the perfect mix of swashbuckly beachy fun. My players loved the (spoilers!) shark-infested waters and I had a blast fleshing out character voices etc for the ships captain and Skyhorn.
We're lined up to play through Corruption of Skyhorn Lighthouse soon, can't wait!

It's odd no one else mentioned it but maybe you recently updated a new version? (Which brings up a request - add a version number and revision date to the last page. Useful for us, helpful for you to know which version people have if there's an issue)

Hey!! Thank you SO much for drawing my attention to this! There does appear to be a text rendering issue in the most recent version (I did update it recently). I just created a fresh version of the PDF that looks like it no longer has this problem. Hopefully that fixed it.

The files should have their version number listed at the end of the file, so this newest one should be V8, and the prior one with the problem V7.

Please let me know if that doesn't correct the weird text issue. No idea how it happened, but PDFs and text files can be odd sometimes!

I'm a bit confused about the Stormcaller's stats:
In the adventure on page 20 it says that he has an AC of 15 with hide armor and stealth +8, but I can't figure out why his AC isn't 14 and I expected his stealth to either be +6 (proficiency) or +9 (expertise). Confusingly, on the combat cards his stealth is +5, which doesn't make sense either.
Could it be that he's wearing different armor? I'd really appreciate some clarification because I'll definitely ramp up the challenge for my group! TPKs are not a bad thing *evil laugh*

Hi Sabine! You are so right, that's a typo that sneaked in! The Stormcaller went through a few redesigns and seems to have gotten ahead of my editing ability. He should have an AC of 15 with studded leather armor, not hide. And his Stealth skill should be +9 (expertise)! I'm going to get a corrected version up here before long to fix the combat card and stats page. Thank you for putting this on my radar!

Does any one know how to make the maps work in Foundry VTT? (Scale?) I can't get the grids to line up, no matter what I have tried... Why can there just be ungridded maps? I don't know what to do but not use them? Any help is appreciated!

Hi Michael! I'm so sorry to say I've never used Foundry VTT and don't know a ton about how to troubleshoot it... but I do see the value in ungridded maps, especially since VTT options have expanded so much since I first released this module! I'll work with the map artist to sort out at how I can added ungridded versions to this adventure.

The maps in the folder named "VTT" tell you the amount of squares there are. For example: the Docks are 23 squares high and 31 squares wide).
Now just divide the pixels by the squares and you'll get the size you need to give your grid. For the Docks that would be 5266px/31 = 169.87 so if you set your Foundry VTT grid size to 170px you should be fine.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
