Hi Chris! I just tested this from a few different devices and didn't run into any issues with file downloading or extraction, so I'm not sure what might be causing the problem. I did just re-upload the .zip file in case there was an issue, though. Let me know if this is still not working on your end!

Still nothing. Winzip keeps saying it's unable to process the maps. No idea what's going on.

That's so odd! Hmmmm, would you mind shooting me an email at kelsey@thearcanelibrary.com? We can go into more troubleshooting details and I could send you some screenshots that might be helpful that way. Sorry for the trouble with this!

Hi Josh! I put the full adventure document (and associated files) inside the .zip file, so hopefully it should be in there for you. Let me know if not!

Great adventure! I'm running a sandbox style game that takes place on the Sea of Fallen Stars and this was really easy to incorporate. Made for a very fun session! I look forward to running the follow-up for my players in the near future.

I am running a Ravnica campaign and with a few minor changes I made this work for that setting involving the Simic, Orazhov and Golgari.

In case anyone wants to run this in Ravnica, here are my changes (contains some minor spoilers):

On Ravnica there is no real surface waterways. All oceans are underground having been built over by 10,000 years of urban sprawl. The Simic guild contains merfolk so the lighthouse was a Simic guildgate that allowed access between the surface and underground. The Orzhov run merchant ships on the underground oceans that they pay the Simic for access to. Frogwater was an Orzhov noble and both captains work for him. I cut out the pirate fight. Lucius became a Simic merfolk named Sol Mar who protects the guild gate. The Eelfolk are a minor Golgari teratogen faction trying to gain control of Ravnican waterways from the Simic to gain influence in the Golgari.

Thanks for offering this for free! I'll have to look into the sequel and see if I can make...See more

This is an awesome adaptation into Ravnica, I love it! :D

And you are not crazy, the stormcaller isn’t in the adventure unless you add it to increase the challenge level. I just had too much fun making eelfolk, so I included an extra one for DMs to make use of! :)

Thanks so much for your work on this product! I've returned to D&D *(last appearance was first edition!) with a group of 9-year old kids thanks to COVID isolation and they really wanted to move from Dragon Heist to a sea/ pirate adventure, this looks perfect! I bought both modules, but I'd be happy to pay you for the first one as well. Is this possible? Do you have a place we can make a donation?

That is so kind of you, Gregory, and welcome back to D&D! I’m so happy to hear you’re going to be running this with the group of kids. :) This adventure is my gift to the D&D community, and if you like it and want to run more like it, I have more of ‘em for sale on my website (thearcanelibrary.com). Anything you buy on there supports me directly and is deeply appreciated, plus I love knowing you get cool content in return to use at your table. :)

The formatting of this adventure is an absolute delight. Framing every scene wit a dramatic question, providing a host of incentives for the player character to follow the call to adventure, item and monster cards... just stellar quality and perfect for my style of gamemastering. Props to the author.

Hi Kelsey,
New to fantasy grounds, how do you install it so it works in FG ?
Customer avatar
Kelsey D March 24, 2020 2:18 pm UTC
CREATOR
Hi Martin! I also have to admit a lack of expertise -- my understanding is that you have to move the .mod file (which is the Fantasy Grounds module file) into Modules folder within Fantasy Grounds. I referenced this forum thread, if it's any help: https://www.fantasygrounds.com/forums/showthread.php?19436-How-do-I-install-modules-and-extensions

Well, I mis-remembered this as Pay What You Want and came back to give you money, but there's no button for it! I love this format so much. Was simple to run as a newish DM with lots of flexibility. Definitely will keep using the combat card system, and check out The Arcane Library. Thank you!

Hi Kelsey,

Great story! Thanks for sharing to the community. I had a question about resting, do you let the players have a short rest? A long rest? If not, what interrupts them? Thanks!
Customer avatar
Kelsey D February 10, 2020 4:57 pm UTC
CREATOR
Hi Florian! :) I'd say a safe spot to have a long rest is in the room with Lucien, but the eelfolk might discover their slain companions if the characters do nothing to prevent that (I'd roll for it). If the eelfolk discover the characters' presence, they may send a team to attack. They might even force a prisoner to summon a water elemental to use against the characters. They'd also be on alert for intruders. Short rests are much less risky!

FYI, When unpacked the Fantasy Grounds module has an extra extension as an mpg. (XXX.mod.mpg) You have to rename the file and drop the .mpg from the name or it does not work.
Customer avatar
Kelsey D August 28, 2019 5:21 pm UTC
CREATOR
Hi Bryan! Thank you so much, this is a great heads up. It must add that extension during the unzipping process, because it doesn't have the .mpg extension before I compress the files. Yikes! I've seen that happen on Macs, but not sure if it occurs on PCs, too. I hope anyone who hits that and gets stuck checks these comments!

I'm looking at running this adventure and quite excited about it. One question, though. There is a stat block for the Eelfolk Stormcaller, but I do not see it placed anywhere in the adventure. I assume it should be in area 9, by the Bowl of Commanding Water, Grigor, and the Eelfolk Scourge?

CREATOR
Hi Chad! Great question. :) I added the stormcaller as a future plot/adventure hook or as a way for DMs to power up the adventure if their groups are higher than 5th level. But the adventure as written for 5th level groups doesn't make use of the stormcaller. I hope that clears it up!

Hi Kevin! Thank you so much for asking. :) I don't have print-on-demand access on DMs Guild, so I don't have that as an option for now, as it turns out. But, I do have a print-friendly version of the adventure included to be nicer on printers, and I think there are lots of legal ways to get color books printed for personal use (I love the Barnes and Noble print on demand engine, it's really cool). I appreciate you wondering!

Hi Michael! Good question. I just added a print-friendly version that takes out the background image and makes the adventure art greyscale. I left color in titles/words where I felt it contributed to readability! :) I hope that helps!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
