Gith Handbook

Suggested Price $2.00

Since they debuted in the Fiend Folio, the gith races have occupied a special place in Dungeons & Dragons lore. In this book you will find information to play githyanki and githzerai, brought to you by two long-time fans and contributors. Racial stats for the gith and the two subraces will allow you to build any sort of character you like and the unique subclasses will ensure that they are memorable:

  • The Oath of the Astral will make your paladin a stone-hearted knight of the lich-queen.
  • The Zerth martial archetype will transform your fighter into a warrior-philosopher on the path through the Circle of Zerthimon.
  • The Lich-Queen is also available as an otherworldly patron for blackweave warlocks.
  • The Way of the Still Mind is a traditional githzerai monastic tradition that fuses mind and body into a perfectly honed weapon.
  • And the Rrathmal is a prestige class open to everyone willing to live their lives in pursuit of hunting the hated mind flayers.

(It wouldn't let me right a review for some reason, so I'll write my review here.)
THANK YOU! I've been waiting to see somebody turn the gith into a playable race for a good year now. I love this book and will definitely use it.
There are some issues in the book that I've noticed however:
- The base alignment and ability score increases for the gith have not been emboldened, and the alignment paragraph is inside the age paragraph.
- The channel divinity ability Invoke the Queen's Authority has an error. "On a failed save the creature incapacitated" is missing the word 'is'.
- The Mark of the Queen ability for warlocks seems more like a ribbon feature rather than a useful feature. The entirety of the warlock patron seems rather lacklustre.
The things I liked however:
- The gith as a race are pretty great, and I'm sure I'll be playing one in the next game I join.
- The fighter, monk and prestige classes look like a whole lot of fun. The rrathmal especially....See more

Feedback definitely appreciated! We'll add that bolding and "is" and consider some tweaks to the warlock for a broader palette. We'll definitely have some more books out in the near future so keep an eye out!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
