Mechanist-5E Class

Suggested Price $1.00

In the realms of D&D, many warriors wear armor but few build their armor from scrap metal and magic. Such is the life of a Mechanist, who build full body suits of armor to protect them from the dangers of the world. With armor types ranging from the agile Viper armor and the heavy-duty Rhino armor, Mechanists are versatile warriors that train rigorously to enhancem the potency of their armor.

It seems a bit underpowered at times, especially the Viper, which while emulating a Rogue does FAR less damage because it lacks sneak attack. It does however, have much more HP if you count suit plus flesh. The Rhino seems the best to me. I'd also consider going into more details on the mech point abilities (for example how to calculate saving throws for Grease). Plus, the formatting could be tightened up to more closely resemble the PHB (for example: "2 Martial Weapons" isn't something you'd see in the PHB, Weapon Master feat says "four weapons").

Thanks for the feedback! I agree the classes each suit represents are meant to be slightly less powerful than the real ones so as not to overshadow an actual Rogue or Fighter; it's the versatility. I will definitely look at the Mech point economy more in the future and the two weapons felt appropriate for a "Tinker-esque" character that doesn't spend a lot of time training martially.

Regardless, I greatly appreciate the constructive criticism!

You should add a mech upgrade that allows you to pilot a large mech. Also, I would advise perhaps adding up to 2 more mech points somewhere along the progression, but that's just my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll definitely consider it! A 'Hulk Buster-esque' suit would be fun indeed.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
