DDAL06-01 Epic Map pack for A Thousand Tiny Deaths

ADD TO WISHLIST >

From the Roadside Encounter from the town of Blasingdell to the Sourscale Warrens located in the Dark Mere. Even after using the maps for the Adventures League game, they are generic enough to use for other campaigns.

Included:

This map pack includes 3 versions of the Kobold Warrens map. With and without a grid and one with the DM's layer. Also 2 versions of the Roadside Encounter, with and without grid. Two size version are included with each style map. 50x50 pixel per grid for easy import into Fantasy Grounds (labeled FG2maps). And a 100x100 pixel per grid for higher detail. (labeled VTTmaps) for easy import into apps like Roll20. Edges align with the grid for easy import into all Virtual Table Top programs and apps.

What is meant by "handpainted"?

I don't use assets or textures found on the internet. I use a pen and tablet on my computer to draw and paint each item and texture used to make my maps. Then I add lighting and shadows to make the image pop out and look 3d. This type of map is very helpful in getting the players immersed into the world they play in.

It wasn't designed for that, but you can do it. Just tell the printer to print a 50dpi for the Fantasy Grounds version, or 100dpi for the other version. It will come out to the proper scale.

Very, the file has the grid dimensions on it. Create a new map with those dimensions and drag the map onto it. Stretch it to max size. Will line up perfectly.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
