"Unstuck" Encounters

---I'm thrilled to report that this publication received a very positive review from Jeff Grenier of the Tome Show, a seminal podcast for all things D&D.  Check out episode 286 (August 28, 2017), beginning at 43:20.  Here's the link: http://www.thetomeshow.com/e/more-pdf-minis-reviews-tome-286/--

Short scenarios for when your PCs just can't figure it out.

Every Dungeon Master has been in this situation: your PCs can't figure out what to do next, where to go next or who to look for next.  It's your job as the DM to help them get unstuck, and this collection of encounters can help.

Rather than simply telling your PCs what they need to know, make them earn it.  If they are about to give up, use these short encounters as a way to reveal the needed information in a different or weird or (sometimes) low-cost way.

For instance, did your PCs miss your multiple clues about the secret section of the dungeon? Then have them meet Dirk, the transmuted rat thief, who would gladly show them the way in exchange for some well-made, rat-size furniture.

I hope you enjoy 'Unstuck Encounters'.  If you do, check out my other products on DMs Guild:

Tavern Brawl Builder (GOLD Bestseller):  This supplement is a loving tribute to a classic D&D trope: the tavern brawl!  Inside are 10 unusual taverns to house your brawl, 10 brawl encounters, 10 brawl complications, and loads of NPCs, stories and adventure hooks.  Read up on how to THROW DOWN!  Features in Dragon+ magazine (Issue 21) and reviewed by Comicbook.com!

Build-A-Brawl

Volo's Lost Encounters (ELECTRUM Bestseller): A collection of encounters to be easily used in your campaigns, featuring some of the races from ‘Volo’s Guide to Monsters’.  More than just a collection of stats and maps, each encounter tells a story that showcases the monster’s essence and its place in the world.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
