Simplified 5e Spellbook Bundle

ADD TO WISHLIST >
Suggested Price $10.00

When D&D 5e came out I was pretty pleased with it, except for the spell section. I liked how in 3.5 there was a simplified spell list for each class that you could look at for a quick reference. This was helpful for making characters as a player and helpful for a DM when you don't have time to flip through a massive index of spells just to get a general idea of what your player is doing.

So I made a simpliefied spell list for each class that has access to spells in 5e inspired by the ones in 3.5. They are sorted by level with basic descrptions for each spell. All the spells listed are from the Players Handbook and the descriptions are condesnsed and paraphrased for quick reference.

This bundle includes spellbooks for each class in the Players Handbook that has access to spells.

If you like what you see feel free to toss some money, I'm a college DM so any purchase is appreciated. :)

Unfortunately there isn't right now but in my spare time I've been updating these to include newer spells and when I'm done with that I will likely be adding a print friendly version. I made these years ago for fun and I didn't think of it at the time.

You're welcome! Its something I made my freshman year of college cause frankly I was frustrated with the PHB myself. Like I said, not a lot of spare time now cause I'm job hunting/working on my online business but I'm hoping once things settle down I can get to updating this and other D&D stuff I've been working on.

Do these include Xanathar's spells, or even SCAG, or EEPC?

Hi J! Sorry I didn't respond to this sooner for some reason the site didn't notify me. Unfortunately I am in grad school at the moment so I haven't had time to update these with the new book material. You haven't been the only one to request it though so once I'm out of school and I've settled down a bit I'd love to update them! :)

Handy for my newer players. The biggest thing I have had to do and what could be good to add is to add if the spell is "concentration", or not. Could be a simply * and say at bottom or throw a (c) at the end of the spell description.

Also would be helpful to have a list of all the spells from all books and list rituals in the same manor as I recommended for concentration above.

Thanks for the recommendation Will. :) I'll keep that in mind next time I have available time to edit these.

Your spell lists don't note the school of magic on them, even for the wizard. This is nice, but without that information it's still note a terribly handy reference for specialist wizards or archetype casters with limited access to schools of magic.

That's a good point, I didn't even think about that when I made these ages ago! The Core book doesn't have this as well. I likely didn't think about it at the time because as both a DM and a player I was not fond of specialty spellcasters. Thanks for pointing it out though! If I have time I'll see about editing them. :)

These are very handy! I did notice that the Ranger book seems to be missing Hunter's Mark.

Huh I never noticed that. And I made these a couple years ago! I'll see if I can find the original doc so I can edit it. :) (As in the original word document I used to make the PDF)

Cool! I find combining your supplements here with this one: http://www.dmsguild.com/product/174067/DD-5e-Class-Reference-Sheets

to make an overall easier time for players. They don't have to flip through all the pages in the PHB constantly.

Ooo those are awesome, thanks for showing them to me! I have some new players that those will certainly come in handy for.

I went ahead and added it, as well as fixing the Warlock spellbook as well. Thanks again for letting me know!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
