The swordmage is a warrior that blends magic spells with martial technique in battle. Unlike those who merely dabble in either field to complement their existing skills, the swordmage's training aims for a true combination from the ground up.

Every swordmage develops the ability to produce magical wards that be used either to shroud enemies with supernatural effects, or to enhance personal abilities in ways that can stagger the imagination.

Aegis of Armament: The swordmage learns to store objects in a personal pocket dimension and retrieve them during combat for improved versatility.

Aegis of Assault: The swordmage shrouds an enemy, object, or location with a ward that acts as a beacon for the swordmage's teleportation across the battlefield.

Aegis of Ensnarement: The swordmage shrouds an enemy with a ward that grants the swordmage the ability to teleport the enemy away from allies.

Aegis of Shielding: The swordmage shrouds an enemy with a ward that hinders and deflects the enemy's attacks.

I updated the page with update notes and a new file upload for v1.1.

When I finally finish my Realmspace Traveler's Guide (complete version, revising the work and even the format from earlier work), I might include a new swordmage archetype specialized towards adventuring in space in the player options section.

Great idea, I loved the Swordmage in 4e, but there are some issues that I can see.

Like Foy F stated, you're missing the Ability Score Improvement description, and Strength and Intelligence as saving throws is extremely weak. I'd suggest Constitution and Intelligence.

You should look at Aegis of Assault again, too. Mark of Assault, at level 14, allows you to teleport to your marked target 3 (6, if you've got haste up) times a round, and make an attack each time. And then also take an action, which could be the dash action, to double your movement speed.

Which is really, really clearly overpowered, because it'd mean 12 attacks a round if you have haste up, or 6 if you don't.

It looks pretty solid, I just have two suggestions:
1. I don't see the Ability Score Improvement paragraph listing what levels you get them and how they work. I see it in the chart. I know its not necessary, but its nice to have.
2. I would revise the choice in proficient Saving Throws. Strength and Intelligence make initial sense, but they're not used as much as some others. In my own conclusion, there are two types of Saving Throw. Strong (Dexterity, Constitution, and Wisdom) and Weak (Strength, Intelligence, and Charisma). Strong Saving Throws are used much more often than weak saving throws. Something else I've noticed is that all the core classes have one Strong Saving Throw and one Weak Saving Throw. Just something to look at and think about.

So here's my major gripe at the moment, from the spell list provided and what knowledge I have of said spells, Blade Casting is more or less useless. The list of spells in 5E with a range of touch that you would want to apply with a sword, mace, etc to the face is pretty much nonexistent. On the other hand, if you meant it to be range of self, then it would be cool. Cone of Cold, Burning Hands, and Thunderwave (as examples) could be pretty awesome to use in conjunction with an attack. Even Shocking Grasp would be cool to channel through your weapon but you have it restricted to 1st level and higher. A list of spells or some kind of notation to denote which spells could be used with this ability would certainly serve to clarify. Minor gripe, but the Shielding archetype doesn't have a level 18 skill/power/etc. Seems odd when all the others do. Otherwise, it seems like a solid class with an interesting unarmored defense seemingly focused on knowledge of your would be attacker being used as AC.

Blade Casting and Extra Attack can't be used at the same time. Attacking as part of an action is not the same as taking an attack action. You can google the "Attacks VS. Attack actions: the Hamburger Analogy" EN World thread for a clarification of how that works in 5e.

Or follow this link to the thread. http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?517643-Attacks-VS-Attack-Actions-The-Burger-Analogy

You can find more touch spells in my Artificer book, also on my channel here. There are some very useful ones there and more incoming on the next update (probably within the next few weeks).

For the Shielding archetype, if you read the last sentence of the Variable Ward feature, it adds an improvement at 18th level.

Adding a list of which spells are touch is a good idea. I'll add that in my next update on this. Probably also within the next weeks (I just finished my most recent main income gig so I've got more time to spare the rest of this month).

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
