Fantasy Grounds Random PC Generator

This a module for the Fantasy Grounds VTT software.

I totally rebuilt the way this works! Build a PC in less than 10 minutes. BAM!

This will give you all the info you need to build a PC in Fantasy Grounds completely randomly in one click OR you can do it randomly STEP BY STEP and choose what you want to use.

It uses ALL TWELVE (13) current 5E sources in FG and will also work with the SRD (the old module is still included).

This module pulls from the tables to give you everything you need...

Ability Scores
Race
Class
Background
Age
Height
Weight
Alignment
Gender
Feats
Languages
Spells

Build your own, or if you're a DM, make your players have a totally random build and have them ROLE PLAY what they get.  Super fun!

I welcome suggestions and feedback.

ThanX!

Any errors found, please let me know, I will publish corrections immediately!

This is a Fantastic Product along with everything you have produced.(I have most of them, especially the solo adventures.)

Recently when using the Full PC generator, I got a Gith Race. I do own the mordenkainen's tome of foes book, but the pop generated says "Load DD Morfenkainen's tome of Foes", and will not open/ load the book.
Thank you in advance I still enjoy your products.

SmiteWorks changed the file name from DD to D&D so I had to relink those races. ThanX for reporting that. Fixed and updated so you can redownload. Enjoy!

Thank you for taking care of that in such a quick and concise manner Rob.

Quick question, in the Full PC Generator, is there a way to alter the stat rolling to 4d6 drop the lowest? This is a common theme in some of my face to face groups. If not it doesn't detract from the program in anyway. Its fantastic and I've used it for tons of NPC's.

John:

Unfortunately, FG doesn't do that. It rolls on a table now and generates 3d6, you could change the table to put 4d6 but there's no way to do the math to take away the lowest roll. An alternative would be to alter the table to roll, 4 separate d6, and then just list them, which I did think of, but I thought better of it for 2 reasons. 1) Not everyone uses it and this IS supposed to be a random PC generator where the player's WISHES are not taken into consideration. 2) TOO MANY QUESTIONS! lol

Ken, since you asked, I'll do a video and attach it to this page. Gimme 20 minutes.

Thanks! I figured it out after a few minutes of fiddling with it, but it'd still be good to have a video :)

Purchased, but a little disappointed. Still have to virtually create the character yourself; inventory, spells, level etc. Thanks anyway but not really what I was after.

Daniel, I think what you’re looking for doesn’t and can’t exist. FG is automated, but it cannot “create”characters for you. I got you as close as is possible. Sorry you are disappointed. It does do everything advertised.

Thanks for the warning. I bought it anyway with lowered expectations. I can understand the disappointment, as there is really no way to implement a proper character generator in FG. The closest I have seen is a script on the Hero Lab forums for exporting 5e characters to a FG XML. Perhaps in the future there might be an app that can generate characters that are able to natively export such an XML. As it is, I bought it because I figure I could still use the tables for tables or random NPC flavor text.

The Class; Background; Race section, just stays Class, Background, Race on the generated sheet, anyway to fix this so it chooses these values? Or is it supposed to act this way?

same thing with Gender, Age, Height, Weight, Alignment, Diety under notes tab. Do I need to surround them with []?

Look slightly below that, there are three links provided. Also, make sure your modules (sources) are open in the library.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
