I haven't rated it yet. but the Fantasy Grounds module is not very usable. Monsters and NPC's just don't work. Attacks aren't functional. Someone ran us through it and the DM complained the whole time. I said it couldn't be that bad. I ran it a few months later and realized he was right. The monsters don't work, there aren't treasure parcels. If you need assistance in cleaning this up, let me know. In general, the fantasy grounds modules on DM's guild are great. This one is not. Can you please update and correct this?

I can not personally stand to use FG; and do not have a group of players willing to do so even if I could. The FG module for Plots is based on other AL fantasy grounds modules I had access to and reverse engineered (FG does not provide documentation on its file format). As far I can tell it replicates the functionality found in those modules.

Specifically :

1) You are not the first person to complain about the treasure parcels, but the db.xml files includes them as appropriate and I can pull them up when I load the file into FG. What specifically is the problem with them? Are you sure you just didn't miss them? This module is really meant to be navigated via the top level table of contents, and treasure shows up under the rewards at the end.

2) Monster stat blocks show up as intended, and are linked appropriately to encounters when I pull those up. They look correct to me. What about them doesn't work?

3) Nothing I found in my example modules allowed for automating...See more

The monsters attacks do not work. I play about 8 times a week using Fantasy grounds and run lots of games and play a lot. There is a large number of users who play with FG :). are you raw editing XML? If you end up needing an example of working monsters, you can get the monsters from the D&D 5e SRD bestiary. If you would like to see what the exact issue, I would be happy to show you in Fantasy Grounds.

Enjoying the module, just started it up for my FLGS. Going to try to do it in three 2 hour sessions. Is there a sequel to this module? Seems to be set up to have at least 1 sequel if not a trilogy.

I'm not sure if this was intentional or an error but the encounters are missing attack information for a lot of Monsters I had to manually enter the attacks for quite a few of the monsters for the encounters from my monster list in encounter Tab IN fantasy grounds.

The adventure is very good, but the FG mod has a few challenges.

- The NPCs are built wrong, so you can't use the automatic functions from the combat tracker (see comment above). This makes combat tricky unless you rebuild the encounters.
- The Maps are oriented incorrectly. You can adjust on the fly, but easy to forget when reading the words.
- The items / parcels are incorrect in some cases (smoke doesn't work in the PC item)
- The story has no numbering system to ensure the item pages of the story are ordered. It has next and previous, but sometimes you need to jump back to something else.

Some of these things are that bad, but the NPC issue is a major item.

Would it be possible to get Magic Item Certificates in the typical Adventurers League format with this module? I'd like to give my players a cert they can trade a Fai Chen's trading post, but I don't think Fai Chen will accept certs with this unique formatting.

I have add an official certificate suitable for use at Fai Chen's. This version of the adventure also fixes a great many typos in the original text.

This is still one of the best mods I have every played. From the day that I did the play test I enjoyed what was there at the time could not wait to play the full version. Jason is made a really great mod in that the hook is really nice, everything flows very well together and gives great advice on what to do in parts since there are going to be people that are going to want to look around the mod at cretin things. But the part that I actually enjoy the most is that this is a very fun read, and that there are no, or if any typeos. Everything is written really well. It is also good in the way that it give advice on how to run the mod if you are pressed for time and do not have the full 8 hours to play. It does give a good stopping point to take a break and let your character get a long rest. I highly encourage you to get this Mod since you will be pleased with what you play.

Hi, I'm thinking about purchasing the module, but I have a question, is there a good break point anywhere near the middle to allow splitting play across two sessions?

Yes, the module has a natural break point at about the half-way point where the characters get a long rest; no record keeping between sessions. Additionally, there are instructions on how run the module in four hours without sacrificing any of the plot if time is an issue (such as at a convention).

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
