So we may have a player leave our game due to some misunderstandings with this material. Who said what aside, our player is using the bastard sword, with a shield, and great weapon mastery (far out that feat is stupid). Did you intend, with this supplement, to have people using GWM 1 handed with a shield? Seems... broken.

CREATOR
Hello. Thanks for downloading the product and giving it a try. Unfortunately I'm not quite sure what you're referring to in the document - there is no bastard sword mentioned, nor are there any weapons which would allow the GWM feat to be used alongside a shield, although that is more to do with the rules of the feat itself than anything in the product.

As always, the intention of any D&D product is mainly to provide inspiration and potential rule-sets for DMs. You (or your DM) is under no obligation to use, partially or entirely, anything in this unofficial supplement. If it is causes issues in your game, I can heartily recommend you discard it entirely.

Hope this helps.

Your lightened armour is (sorry to say) nonsensical. You grant *significant initiative bonuses*. I could get +6 initiative by lightening up an armour. That beats the guy wearing no armour (no dex bonus) by a whopping pile and it beats the guy with an 18 dex to boot. Or am I missing something?

It's a nitpick, but I think toying with initiative like that would only work if all armours were evaluated. In theory, heavy armours might slow you up, but they've shown people in plate mail can do rolls, jump, vault onto a horse, etc. so I don't think even your plate mail is going to significantly impede your responses.

The principal reason armour is worn is protection. However, if that slowed you up so badly you couldn't respond quickly, it wouldn't be worn. Useful armour (vs display pieces) has to allow movement and reaction.

The game tries to wedge in a bunch of armours of different sorts and times into one armour table that makes each have advantage. That was probably a broken...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
