Staring out over the bloodstained snows and wartorn hillside , the Warchief Caanishon of Slagskold watched as the hobgoblin war party charged forward into the fray. His own warriors were putting up a valiant effort, but when he noticed a detachment of bugbears circling around a hillside to the west to flank the Slagskold berserkers, he realized things were about to grow dire.

Caniishon knew his people would not survive the wave of bugbear cut-throats, but he and his force were too far away to intercede. He bit back a curse and uttered a small prayer to is ancestors who had protected lands for countless centuries...or at least he started to...

He heard an explosion and the pained screams of bugbears, followed by two more explosions that wracked the hillside. He turned his eyes back to the encroaching force of bugbears only to see a score of the beasts flying in all directions. A radiant beam of light fell from the sky and struck the largest of the goblinoids, who turned to ash. He watched in amazement as three enormous forms in the distance laid waste to the bugbear contingent with spell and blade! Even from this distance he knew his prayers had been answered.

The Senseschals of Slagskold charged valiantly into battle, unleashing primal war howls that resounded across the frozen hillsides. Bugbears fell by the handful under the weight of their druidic magics and unbridled fury! The warriors behind the warchief began to whoop and hollar as the tide of battle were about to turn! The three fell theurges continued to smite down the bugbear force with irrepressible wrath.

Warchief Caanishon found resolve at the sight, knowing that the bloodseers had come. His voice echoed out to the men and women who stood at his back, awaiting his command, "KINSMEN, THE TIDES HAVE TURNED! BEAR WITNESS TO THE SAVIORS OF SLAGSKOLD AND SHOW THEM THE DEPTH OF YOUR HONOR. CHARGE!"

With their faith and fervor restored the Slagskold clan rushed headlong towards the hobgoblins. They cared not, even when they saw another wave of worg-mounted goblins charging over a ridge to the east in their direction.

"VICTORY IS OURS! IF WE DIE TODAY, WE DIE WITH HONOR! THE SENESCHALS HAVE COME!"

The warriors of the Slagskold tribe roared with approval...another explosion rocked the bugbear contingent...Warchief Caanishon smiled...

Barbarians come from many walks of life. Some primal paths such as the Path of the Fell Theurge lead a barbarian into the life of a chosen warrior-mystic, often referred to as bloodseers, rage-priests, and war-born. These Fell Theurges learn to harness the primal fury that pervades their spirit and through this primeval medium can augment their rage with unique abilities. These savage shamans also have the limited ability to call upon destructive druidic and/or divine magic. Some of these fell theurges can even use their fury points to fuel their war magic. Within this document you will find an all new barbarian primal path, which has the potential to invoke and cast spells while raging, in additon to a multitude of other options.

  • You will discover the description and optional War-born scar's table helpful in creating your fell theurge, with a unique and flavorful backstory.
  • The Fell Theurge Spellcasting table will provide you a refererence point for choosing your spells and how many fury points you have at your disposal.
  • Contained within is a detailed list of blessings known as benisons that you may fuel with your fury points. These abilities are used to augment your barbarian rage and perform supernatural feats beyond what is capable for any other barbarian.
  • An all new feat called Furyborn Adept can provide some of the fell theurge powers to any barbarian path and can make for an interesting initiate or failed apprentice backstory.
  • You may also find the optional ruleset: Primitive Arsenal to your liking. Should you desire to drive the point home that barbarians are truly savage and primitive folk, the list of Primitive Weapons and two new Weapon Properties could be right up your alley...

For those who have downloaded this barbarian primal path, there are some major changes in the works to help with balance between the archetype and the existing barbarian class features. I am currently working on converting this primal path into a Full Class that will help with some issues I realized only after posting the Fell Theurge Primal Path. Hopefully before the end of the month I will have everything finished and updated to Fell Theurge Version 2.0.

Meanwhile please feel free to add some feedback! Questions, comments, concerns, and even suggestions would be great!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
