Gracklstugh Revised - Turmoil in the City of Blades

ADD TO WISHLIST >

This 37-page supplement to the Out of the Abyss adventure restructures Chapter 4: Gracklstugh to streamline, simplify, and expand upon the elements within the adventure as originally written.

Changes to existing content:

  • Enhances the role of the Deepking of Gracklstugh.
  • Enhances the role of the derro Council of Savants and the Cult of Demogorgon.
  • Revises and clarifies the roles of the Gray Ghosts, Council of Savants, Empty-Scabbard Killers, and various duergar military factions.
  • Fleshes out the nineteen duergar clans of Gracklstugh, including a map of Gracklstugh that divides territory by clan.
  • Heightens the tension in Gracklstugh, building toward a climactic conclusion.
  • Revises and enhances the Whorlstone Tunnels for a party of level 5-6, incorporating a fledgling Mind Flayer colony among other, smaller changes. Includes a re-labeled map of the dungeon, 80% new encounters, and new random encounters.

New content:

  • Provides outlines, cast of characters, and dungeon roster for easy use of the original chapter and the supplement.
  • New storyline pitting the Deepking, the Council of Savants, Themberchaud, and a new Mind Flayer against each other.
  • New CR 16 stat block for the Deepking as a warlock of Asmodeus, including a sentient, lawful evil warhammer.
  • Several treasure hoards for the Deepking, the Council of Savants, the duergar clans, and the Cairngorm Clan.
  • Appendix of developments beyond the chapter
  • Appdenix of duergar clans and military information
  • Appendix of a trade mission from Blingdenstone to throw the players deep into the heart of the events in Gracklstugh
  • Appendix of a new race option: Demogorgonic Abomination
  • Appendix of a set of simplified Mass Combat rules.
I'm happy to answer any questions you have about the supplement, and to provide any information on my own playtesting.
Enjoy!

So, after years of inactivity, I am assuming we are never getting a printer friendly version of this. Which really blows.

I bought this and LOVE it. But was wondering if it would be possible to get a printer-friendly version of this? The backgrounds are absolutely KILLING my ink supply

My group has loved the depth I have brought to Gracklstugh. This is a must-have for Out of the Abyss.

Apologies for reaching out to you here. I can't find any other way to contact you. I wondered if you'd like to bundle Gracklstugh Revisited with a few other DMsGuild Out of the Abyss titles? Please let me know.

@Adam H, is there an opportunity to add additional titles to the bundle?

I have already run Gracklestugh as written in the core book. Now my players are 9th level and have revisited the City of Blades with their small army. Would it make sense for me to get this content?

I came here looking for one as well. I love this resource but I can tell I’ll want it printed out at the table.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
