So I bought and downloaded, this set and I'm excited for my players to see these maps. My only question would be are there more maps without the grid? I've unrar'd/unzipped all of the files but only seem to have 3 maps with no grid lines, am I missing something?

I just bought these for my second time running OotA, and I'm really happy with them already. I can't wait for my players to see them, too. I have a question, though- are the UT Resting and Encounter maps supposed to be the same map? Both the 5ft and 10ft versions are exactly the same. I'm not sure if I'm just missing something, but it doesn't make sense to me.

is there a map for (or would work with) the fountain of evil room in the Whorlstone Tunnels?

I have tried several different things to adjust print size but the largest I can get the grids to print is 25/32". Is there a way to print these with a true 1" grid?

Good to hear! The ones with multiple pages are in A4. If you print with Actual size you can get true 1" Grid!

I am going to start an Oota campaign. I was wondering how I would receive the sheets. I just want to print them, and use them on Roll20, you know.

I'm about to start running OotA over Roll20. Will this cover all encounter spots throughout the entire campaign?

It will cover the first part of the adventure as far as random encounters go (plus silken paths). Part 2 is coming soon!

What format are these in? They seem to be in a .rar format that doesn't open for me

You can unpack .rar files with a free program called winrar. It's actually an almost essential app! :)

I seem to be having a problem printing these maps. I tried both "custom scale" at 100% and "Actual Size" and I seem to be losing the edges of the map. Any pointers?

have you tried minimizing the printing margins?

It mentions 5' battle grid. Does this mean that each map is 5' long?
Customer avatar
John B January 19, 2017 1:52 pm UTC
CREATOR
It means 5 ft grid size in traditional D&D in-game terms. The actual size of the grid is 1 inch. The size of each map is a little bit smaller than an A2 paper.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
