The Sanguine Tide - Background & Part 1 (5E)

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Dear fellow DM/Player

Please feel free to download this module as Part 1 of a 9 part campaign. All i ask if you do wish to download for free, is that you provide some sort of review for this document. Even just a star rating will allow me to see if i need to change or improve the content.

The Sanguine Tide is a homebrew campaign focused on events happening around the same time as events outlined in the Sword Coast Adventures Guide. It opens with the mysterious Disappearences of a number of locals from a small village close to Neverwinter. This adventure is set around the same locations as the D&D Starter Set (5e) and can be used in conjuction with it or perhaps after it (with some modification)

This is my very first campaign, and i am new to the D&D universe so please contact me with any suggestions or errors i have made.

If you enjoyed this Module please find the full 150+ page collection available now for just $4.99, with at least 18 hours of play through material this is a great deal for your next adventure!

Haven't hosted this yet, but reading through it I am very excited to with my group. Very intriguing and just the sort of thing we need to change things up after our last campaign! I'll be sure to comment more once we've played through it!

Hey mate just quickly flicked through have not read it properly yet so ill rate it later but I did notice at the back where the NPCs are you have listed the Commoner as CR 2. Also Adding heaps of locations around neverwinter that are not canon kind of off putting for me and not even adding canon places on your map like Helms Hold which is basically where Faebyth is meant to be. I'll read through eventually and see how hard it is for me to change things then ill give a review.

Zack, the NPC cards had a glitch where they displayed as CR2 after a certain save point unfortunately, obviously commoners aren't at that level. Also in regard to my town locations I have ensured that they aren't placed on top of existing places (check the distances as a reference), I deliberately didn't place helms hold and the like because they aren't relevant to the story and I didn't want to have players become distracted by items on the map that aren't relevant haha.

**Update** As per previous feedback via review, I have uploaded a new version of the document for download. This version tackles 2 separate issues found within the module.
1. The final encounter has been reduced in difficulty to better suit the adventurers level and abilities.
2. Various text and continuity issues have been corrected. In the module background NPC's have been fleshed out and dialogue added. Also a few other changes have been included to help maintain the continuity of the story and its components.

Thanks

Good job on this campaign! I'll be purchasing the new modules you just put out as well. Thanks for providing fun for me and my friends, let me know if you need any more feedback on my review.

P.S. If you plan on making a lot of these campaigns you might want to look into some of the Map maker programs to give them a good finished look.

Thanks very much for the input, I will update the module as per your suggestions, my play test had similar issues with the boss with 2 PC's. You can look forward to an update in the next few days.

A new version of this file is now up and available.
Map making software will definitely make its way into play. I didn't even think of it as an option until i was through the 5th adventure and i realised my artistic skills were definitely not improving haha.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
