$2.00

Now completely revamped based on years of playtest input and research, Oath of the Aegis: A Swordmage Archetype for Paladins presents a unique paladin archetype adapted from Forgotten Realms Archetypes II: Champions of Mystery and Unearthed Archetypes: Heroes for the Ages, and is now available for only $2.00.

Beyond just rules, this includes loads of roleplaying ideas and setting material, including details on playing the class with members of various races, factions and organizations for the Forgotten Realms setting, examination of the class's ethos, setting-specific variants, and more!
From the early days of D&D, the deft warrior who mixes swordplay and spellcasting has been a popular character type (even when only elves could do it!). The swordmage was a previous edition of the game's most beloved take on this character type, and many different attempts have been made to adapt it to 5th Edition rules.
This latest version is based on the theory that the best conversion of the swordmage for the current D&D system is as a paladin archetype. It converts the techniques of this master of magic and martial prowess into a sacred oath, sworn by paladins determined to defend those in their charge with both sharp steel and the arcane arts.
Oath of the Aegis also includes six nine new spells, including echoing blow, frostwind blade, looming shadow, and more! Download it now at a discount price!

Cool theme. Though, the additional free features at level 3 that no official published Oath gets might make this a bit over the top. I'd recommend making them variant replacements of current features. For instance, trade the Paladin's Divine Sense feature for the Arcane Cantrips feature you've created. And perhaps forego the extra damage rolled on your Divine Smite when you use the Spellshatter, so it's not just a free buff to an already great feature. These are the changes I'd make if a player wanted to use this at my table. Otherwise, a solid homebrew!

I think the spellfire blade is a bit OP. I would either make it 2d8 or + your paladin level in extra damage. I like the capstone power. Its very flavorful and useful but not op. I would like to see the ability to cast booming blade or greenflame blade earlier in the character's career.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
