Fiend Lord Player Class
Full‑size Preview

Fiend Lord Player Class

Warrior or Warlock? The Fiend Lord is a rare and powerful being, and very rarely are they well known. Many mistake their abilities for those of a warlock or a brawling monk. In fact, the Fiend Lord draws on aspects from both disciplines, soupling unrivalled martial arts with devastating infernal magic to deceive and destroy. They do not need weapons to outmatch their foes, for the power of their patron makes their own body a weapon of mass destruction.

All new, a D&D class inspired by the iconic fighting style seen in the hit video game Bayonetta. Pummel your foes with fists, sometimes your and sometimes those of your fiendish patron, and use your connection with the Hells to use powerful dark magic.

Version 1.2
--Updated class table to include Martial Arts column
--Changed a number of the abilities to make them more balanced.
--Changed ability Save DCs to be the same as Spell Save DC.
--Minor wording changes for clarity.

Does furious fists affect your fiend fist? And what sort of damage does fiend fist do?

With furious fists, you can make any kind of attack, unarmed, weapon or fiend fist. Fiend fist works like any other weapon attack, so something like an Extra Attack feature (which this essentially is, with a little extra.) I'm finishing up a 1.3 version that will specify this, so thanks for pointing out the vagueness of it!

For damage, it's listed under the Fiend Fist description. The die value increases with level, like a monk's martial arts, and is listed in the class table, and you add either your DEX or CHA modifier, whichever is higher, until 7th level, at which point you add both. I think I'm going to detail the die increase in the description and make sustained fist its own thing to avoid clutter.

Ok thanks for replying however I was also wondering what sort of damage the fiend fist does like bludgeoning piercing slashing and if furious fists makes fiend fist attacks magical. Still really like the class I’m hoping to play it in a out of the abyss game in not to long

Oh, that makes sense. The fiend fist does bludgeoning damage, and they are always considered magical, even before furious fists. Furious fists just affects your unarmed strikes, for those moments when you don't have enough Curse Points to make a bonus action fiend fist attack and still want to punch something, or similar circumstances.

I'm still tweaking and playing with certain features. 1.2 is the most recent version, and I intend to release a 1.3 in the next month or so, hopefully. I'm open to any suggestions on how to improve the class.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
