Tomb of Horrors - Realistic Maps

Tomb of Horrors - Realistic Maps

ZIP File

A virtual tabletop dungeon map of the classic module "S1 Tomb of Horrors". It's intended for online play, but it can be printed out and used on the tabletop.

The digital download includes the .JPEG file with the resolution of 10,500 by 13,200 pixels.

The maps are designed with a 5 ft. grid, which corresponds to one inch at 150dpi. You can divide the pixels by 150 to get the number of squares for roll20 or other virtual tabletops.

If you want to print it out there are some great guides online for just that. Search for "print dungeon maps".

I played this last night with 4 players.

Feedback on this printable map:

- I printed this out 2 by 2 pages in A4 size. In hindsight, this was a little too small for placing PC positions.
I recommend print out larger than this. Possibly 4 by 3 pages A4 size.

- I cut out the rooms and 'place' them on the table, then i add rooms as people explore. I think this map facilitates that by leaving space between each room. If the map is forward thinking enough for that, then I don't understand why this is not provided with a 'white' background as well so I don't have to waste so much ink on the 'in-between' rooms sections.

- There is a problem with the second long corridor room. This room is a puzzle based that is telegraphed by a riddle in the true entrance corridor. The issue is that this map does not illustrate the positions of the 16 or so different colored orbs on the walls. I had the hardest time trying to position these on the map, then gave up...See more

Thanks for the input. I hope you had a good game.

I'll add a white background and the orbs in the hallway shortly.

So, just to be clear this includes the Map for the Dead God's Tomb, not the Garden of Graves, the Tomb of Shadows, nor Skull City, correct? I was tempted to buy this module but we're just starting out in the 4 version of Tomb of Horrors and I don't think it has what I need for now.

Hi Jon, I've purchased and dowloaded this map and it looks great! I'm planning on printing it out and am wondering if you have any guidance as to scaling the image so its 1' per square?

I have access ti a large format printer so paper size not an issue (i hope)

Again, thanks for a great product =]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
