Random Dungeon Room Generator

Every dungeon locale concept you ever need is in this book.

The DUNGEON CRUCIBLE BOOK TWO:  RANDOM DUNGEON ROOM GENERATOR is a creative dungeon inspiration tool, created specifically for the most recent edition of the world’s first and foremost Fantasy Role-Playing Game (FRPG).

This book is designed to perform three tasks:  [1] To give you enough ideas to generate 20 unique dungeon rooms in 10 minutes or less; [2] To give you a full suite of tools to create your own unlimited dungeon room concepts throughout the lifespan of your campaign; and [3] To give you the largest possible array of location types and descriptors so that you are never designing the same type of dungeon encounter twice.

In short, any time you are stuck, uninspired, experiencing writer’s block, out of time, or simply want a flexible system to bounce ideas in and out of until you unearth something truly worthwhile and unique, this supplement will speed and enhance your creative efforts.  Get rid of the grunt work, get out of the rut, and get inspired to create unique and unforgettable dungeon rooms that will surprise not only your players, but also you as well.

This book contains enough information and random systems to generate literally millions of different and unique dungeon rooms.  Every dungeon locale you ever create can be inspired by this book.  Roll the dice, and let your imagination run.  This is an imagination enhancer, not an imagination replacement!  Some awesomeness on your part will be required.

This book can also be used in conjunction with supplement DC1, Dungeon Crucible Book One, to further speed and enhance your design efforts.  DC1 will give you the dungeon ideas, while DC2 will help you to create all of that dungeon’s rooms in record time.

The DUNGEON CRUCIBLE series is actually a complex set of interrelated dungeon naming and conceptual customization systems.  These systems follow the unifying principle of guided randomness, ensuring that your dungeon rooms are always unpredictable, while also following the classic design structures used in weird fiction, swords & sorcery fiction, and c. 1978-1985 TSR dungeon modules.

DUNGEON CRUCIBLE II:  RANDOM DUNGEON ROOM GENERATOR is the latest FRPG offering from Kent David Kelly, the author of over twenty books including Spawning Pool of the Elder Things (a 5-star DM’s Guild mega-supplement), the popular Castle Oldskull line of OSR gaming supplements, and the acclaimed FRPG history series Hawk & Moor.  From Wonderland Imprints — Only the Finest Works of Fantasy.

Good resource at a reasonable price to help with random room generation and/or other general fuel for idea generation. My only quip is that some of the provided tables have omitted or duplicated entries, but this is easily worked around in the very li [...]

If you find the Chamber Purpose tables in the back of the DMG limiting, this is a godsend. I learned a bunch of words and got ideas that never would otherwise have occurred to me. I used it to start stocking my megadungeon and I'm thoroughly satis [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
