The Complete Red Book of Spell Strategy

The Complete Red Book of Spell Strategy is a 156 page collection of new class options, Feats, Backgrounds,  Rituals, Spells, Magic Items, Monsters, and race.  There is included several fixes to the previous edition, plus an inclusion of at least 16 more spellcaster oriented feats, several new archetypes, etc... Also, in an effort to aid the DM's Guild Community (and myself) in  keeping track of the  very good releases of  new spells from other DM's Guild contributors, the class spell list section is expanded with icons to reference the resources of at least 5 other DM's Guild products that I have found useful (in hopes that these authors may get additional views). There is a focus in this work on the Eastern Realms (particularly Thay and Rashemen and its surrounding underdark), but the majority of the rules are written for  use anywhere in the Forgotten Realms.  This title was previously released, but enough major improvements have been made that I felt it should be released again  on its own.  As a pay what you want title, this should not impact those who previously purchased this product.

PURCHASER
I would advise revising the formatting in order to avoid mistakes such as titles on the bottom of their page referring to content starting in the next one or different spacing between same-type bodies: if you want an X spacing between, say, text and tables, you should keep it both on the top margin and the bottom one. Also, tables-wise, it would be nice if their side margins did not overlap the page's background as on one side it is difficult to understand where they start/end and the image you used as background is really nice!

Thank you. I spent a lot of time on the background page, making certain Red Knight Oaths in various languages (Espruar, Dethek, Thorass, etc...). I had the shield emblem as a watermark in the middle of the page, and I saw it was hard to read, so I removed it. I've been doing all my editing in OpenOffice writer because I don't have MS Office at home, so some of the clean up has been learn as you go (like with tables being screwy). I'd never done an automated table of contents before, so that was a learning experience too. I'm still dabbling on it to fix some typos I've found or sentences I left off regarding rest periods on a couple abilities. But mostly, I'm trying to focus on my next project, which will be more lore oriented, but should include some include some new rules / spells for a broader selection of classes. I'll actually probably use some of the rules in this however to make NPC's to kind of showcase the ruleset (and test it for myself).

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
