Storm King's Thunder Harpers Faction Kit

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Giants have emerged from their strongholds to threaten civilization as never before. Hill giants are stealing all the grain and livestock they can while stone giants have been scouring settlements that have been around forever. Fire giants are press-ganging the smallfolk into the desert, while frost giant longships have been pillaging along the Sword Coast. Even the elusive cloud giants have been witnessed, their wondrous floating cities appearing above Waterdeep and Baldur’s Gate. Where is the storm giant King Hekaton, who is tasked with keeping order among the giants?

Printed in a softcover book format, this faction kit provides content directly from Storm King's Thunder that is relevant for playing both the hardcover adventure as well as in D&D Adventurers League games.

Contains a character sheet, D&D Adventurers League logsheet, faction-based table tent, as well as maps and art relevant to players in theStorm King's Thunder storyline.

We (Wizards) recognize that some of the legacy content available on this website does not reflect the values of the Dungeons & Dragons franchise today. Some older content may reflect ethnic, racial, and gender prejudice that were commonplace in American society at that time. These depictions were wrong then and are wrong today. This content is presented as it was originally created, because to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices never existed. Dungeons & Dragons teaches that diversity is a strength, and we strive to make our D&D products as welcoming and inclusive as possible. This part of our work will never end.

Is this a joke? Received a printed booklet of all the things like a flipbook in regular paper. I thought it was supposed to be a folder with pages in glossy paper and a "foldable" tent. I want a refund!

Can we please get the season one folders back that came with the sticker, letter, description, list of steps for the faction, tent, and the awesome folder itself. I cannot find them anywhere and would love to pay money for those so my players can enjoy them. Not this pile of garbage.

So is there any plans to fix the Harper quote, it says quality for all where it is supposed to say equality for all.

I just took a look at my copy when I saw this comment, That $10 shipping seems even less worth it.

Thanks. $5 seems a bit steep for the player packs. Really I just want the table tent, which were free to download last season anyway. I'll probably just download one of those for AL use rather then throw my money at this.

EDIT: Anyone know if the season 5 table tents are available for free?

So, let me get this straight. 5 bucks* gets me a folder, a map, and a table tent, since I can print my own character sheet and adventure log sheet from home. (*not including s+h).

Technically, $10 bucks. :). The Scooby Doo folder in the clearance back to school isle is looking pretty good right now!

On Twitter, @Wizards_Help told me this "contains a character sheet, 2 log sheets, player-friendly maps, and a foldable table tent!" So no sticker, I guess.

Don't expect free shipping...they're charging $4.14 (USPS Media Mail) to mail a single one of these.

C'mon, Wizards. You've been in the retail industry long enough to know that you should at least give a description of what something IS before you expect them to start shelling out money sight unseen for them.

I'm guessing these are an updated version of the folders representing the factions they used to hand out at conventions and/or hobby stores (Encounters?) the first two years. I have a Harper and a Zhentarim from Season 2. They come with a printed characters sheet, log sheet, table talker, a D&D sticker I think, not sure if there was more then. Basically they were a fancy folder you could keep your character in, not a whole lot more. Not sure about the past two years, but $4.99 is kinda high for something they were giving away free three years ago. Maybe if that includes shipping since it is a printed product?

What's actually in it? Why is this $5?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
