Unusual Oaths, new paladin class options

NOTE: this contribution is now obsolete, as a new, better version of it has been included in my Multiversatility – Player’s Options Pack.

NOTE: a new option, the Oath of Warding, was recently included. If you downloaded the previous version, be sure to  enjoy the new oath.

This little work of mine aims to grant new options to those who choose to play as a paladin, new options that go along the idea of playing a character sworn to an Unusual Oath.

Hence you will the four following oaths.

The Oath of Apocalypse, or “the formerly chaotic evil paladin's oath”, granted by the gods of ultimate destruction, gives to your paladin the powers to became the ultimate reaver, the harbinger of total annihilation.

The Oath of Liberty, loosely based on what passes as the “chaotic good paladin concept”, makes your character a beacon of hope and freedom for the poor and the oppressed: not tied by laws and order, this agent of divine piety is a true folk hero.

The Oath of Mortals, perhaps the most unusual of these oaths, is meant to be chosen by those paladins that gave up their allegiances but, rather than enter the selfish and vile path of the Oathbreaker, decided to uphold their previous values in the name of all mortal kind.

The Oath of Tyranny shapes your paladin into the iconic honorable, valiant and utterly vile black guard that fights in the name of a cruel and vicious power as the deadly sword-hand of an unforgiving deity.

The Oath of Warding, finally, is meant to represent those holy warriors that stand as protector and wardens of some of the holiest symbols of their faith: an ancient relic, a revered sanctuary, or even the newborn god's avatar itself!

And remember: as the Oathbreaker does, the Oath of Apocalypse and the Oath of Tyranny class options are perhaps best suited for an iconic NPC... while the Oath of Mortals offers you a new way to break your oath without giving up your moral compass.

Many thanks, Kelsey! It's heartening to see that fine art is still regarded as a features and not obscenity.

Don't you think you should post some kind of a warning if you are going to include nudity in your pdf?

I admit that I find it unsettling to define "nudity" what is simply art, taken directly from wikiart. Still, you do have a point: as a graduated student of Classical culture I don't consider a naked painting or sculture "nudity", and as an Italian I don't feel like I am dealing with nudity while I deal with the 1 euro coins with Leonardo's Vitruvian Men engraved in them, but there are those that, in uncovered skin, see only that. Right, I'll add a little warning about the fact that my work includes uncensored European art.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
