Color Digital Map Pack: DDEX01-09 Outlaws of the Iron Route

ADD TO WISHLIST >

Color Digital Maps for DDEX01-09 Outlaws of the Iron Route.  This pack includes all four levels of the Grimshackle Jail with four maps per level (High and Low resolution maps for the floorplan, as well as a map populated with doors, rubble, furniture, etc).  This also includes a map of the Moonsea Region with Phlan, Melvaunt, and Ruins of Zhentil Keep.

All maps include grid lines which are aligned to the edges of the map (for easy scaling).

The Low Definition maps are under 5MB to allow for import into Roll20 Free Edition. The HD map is under 10MB for paid Roll20 Subscription.  The Grimshackle maps are 100 pixels per square for HD, and 70 pixels per square for Low Quality (matching Roll20's pixel per square for easy import).

You can find my other maps here.

Please leave a rating and/or a comment so I know if you like the map, and what works and doesn't work.  Thank You!

Hi, I recently bought this pack and it looks great, but I can't work out what size they are designed for in roll20?

I tried adding it to the standard 25x25 size map and the grids don't line up. Can you advise, please?
Thanks

In Roll20, there is an option to draw a 9x9 square on the map, and it will resize correctly. HD is 100px per hex, where SD is 70. So if the map is 25x25 wide, you would need 2500x2500 px map.

Sorry, I have been out of the D&D scene for the past few years, hopefully this helps.

Could they be easily printed or is the scale only suitable for VTT?

These can be printed, but were designed for VTT. If you scale the HD one up from 100dpi to 300dpi, it can be printed easily.

Sorry, please disregard my last comment - I misinterpreted the markings on the map provided by the adventure. These digital maps are great and do not require editing.

Would be nice to have a true "player's version" of the jail maps. For example, for Level 2 if you want to show the players the collapsed floor (which should be obvious), that map also reveals the hidden weak floor. I am editing them myself.

This is so great! Exactly what I needed to run this on a VTT. I would leave a good review and rating, but despite the fact that DMS guild knows I purchased this, I can't see a way to add a review.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
