By Patrick E. Pullen

Just started converting these to GIFs so that they can be used on any background or color! 5 converted so far.

Sometimes you don't need a lot of actual art for your projects. Sometimes you just want something to go in the background that you can write on top of and still see the faded image behind it. Here are 20 pieces of Background art that I have posted which can be used to enhance the look of your products, such as your Drive Thru RPG, DMs Guild and RPG Now projects. The art has been compressed into 1 zip file for easy download.

When using my art I ask to be credited in the artist section as Patrick E. Pullen

By paying the purchase price, you buy the right to use any of the pieces of art in this package for your projects and products as long as the product does not use the art itself for profit.

You may not place any of this art in other stock art.

All artwork rights are retained by the artist #Patrick E. Pullen# and may be used to enhance your products for sale. This product, however can not be sold in any other art projects or art compilations without written consent from the artist. All artwork is copyrighted by Patrick E. Pullen

Just started converting these to GIFs so that they can be used on any background or colored page! That means they only show the image (no white space) 5 converted so far.

what's the DPI on these? I'm looking for something that I could also use in a print project them the guild.

They are 300 dpi jpgs. A lot are purposely blurred for artistic purposes, instead of having sharp lines because that was the look for the background elements I was going for. They should blow up good without pixelating though.

Is it ok to manipulate these. Make them darker or lighter and such? Just wanted to ask before I did.

Scanned image
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
