DM's Kit: Palace of the Red Pasha

There is little time to celebrate the victory at the Well of Dragons. The Lord’s Alliance believes the Cult of the Dragon has a stronghold in Calimport, the home of vanquished cult leader Severin Silrajin.

To find the secret stronghold, the heroes must explore the Palace of the Red Pasha in the city’s Wizard’s Ward.

Can they unravel the cult’s next insidious plot?

This is a Dungeons and Dragons adventure for characters of Level 16, springboarding from the events in The Rise of Tiamat in the Tyranny of Dragons storyline.

Written by Troy Taylor.

The adventure includes:

  • Descriptions of more than 20 NPCs.
  • A randomized mechanic for determining allies and enemies within the palace.
  • A hand-drawn player's map of the palace.
  • DM screen overhangs of the NPCs and adventure locations

Plan on running this this upcoming weekend, but need to whittle it down to a one shot. in a 6-7 hour window. I know, it pains me too!

Other than rushing, (which I don't want to do)... any thought s here Troy?

I've been looking for an adventure that picks up after the defeat of Tiamat. How long is the adventure, and how many levels can the PCs expect to gain if they play through it?

There are 28 numbered encounter areas (of which 15 are combat areas, but one not need go through all of them to complete the adventure). Not included in those 28 encounter areas are the adventure introduction and the exploration of the non-Dungeon areas of the palace. Most members of my group moved up one level in experience.

As for play length, my group got about 14 hours of actual play from it. But much of that included roleplaying, social encounters too.

I'm sold! I probably won't get to run it for my group until after Gen Con, but I will be sure to leave a review when I do.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
