I'm curious how extensive is the NPC index? Most of the time I see only the first or primary mentions of a character, but this book has important information hidden all throughout, including buried in other NPC's stat blocks. For example, in your index can I expect to see Ireena Kolyana listed on page 232 under Izek Strazni's character bio?

Well... I found a preview image on another site that included part of the index page. It looked promising, so I purchased the 'Curse of Strahd DM's Kit & Screen', but I can see now it does NOT include the example I was looking for in my earlier question. So, I regret buying this now, as a complete index was all I really wanted from it. :-(

Can't seem to open the file for some reason, Acrobat just says the file is damaged. Tried downloading multiple times, no luck.

UPDATED 2/21/2018! New layout and new advice for short runs through Castle Ravenloft!

We've updated the layout to make this guide much, much better looking. On top of that, we've added an extended example of how to run a one- or two-session romp through Castle Ravenloft to kill Strahd, perfect for pick-up games, convention games, or a yearly attempt to take down the vampire lord on Halloween!

The latest version uploaded is likely to stand as the final version, barring any major errata. Thank you all for your support! Enjoy!

I think it would also be useful to include the cosmetic spell modifications from page 24 of the adventure book. Any chance you could add those, please?

I'm currently working on some minor layout tweaks across the board, but I can definitely add the spell mods alongside those changes. I'll try to get this done by the end of this week (maybe Fri 7/29)!

There is a lot of extra space at the top of (all) of your PDFs.

Noted! I'll look into some layout updates across the board. Unfortunately, it's not my specialty, so I don't always notice things like that ;-)

Thank you very much for the feedback!

FYI, layout changes have updated this issue. I think I still have a few other releases of mine I have to correct along these lines, but that'll continue to happen over time, and my templates have been updated so this won't continue going forward!

Thanks again for the feedback. It really helps!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
