This was our April 1st product for the DMs guild. While some mechanics were in fact playtested as part of other archetypes (like Fetishes), this material is really tongue-in-cheek. Oh, and if this silly thing makes you laugh then please consider leaving us a cent tip for the statistics. Enjoy.

*****

Welcome to this special edition of DiBastet's Archetypes. All these archetypes were playtest by my group but weren't used in real characters at all. I don't believe in charging for 1 option, so here you'll find 12 archetypes we created, one for each class.

Inside you'll find lots of goodness:

Civilized (Barbarian): "The epitome of social graces in the court. While trained in the arts of war as proper gentry, his true strength lies in the elegant state of mind that he enters to "fight" with words." A "charisma barbarian" subclass with their unique Not-Rage, called Refinement.

Clown (Bard): "While many consider bards to always be clowns, the true Clown scoffs this idea. Taking pride on his oversized shoes and face paint as a warrior takes on his battlegear, the clown fights the tides of darkness that encroach people's hearts.Well, you don't need much more than the typical bard outfit to be called a clown, so why not go all the way?

Domain of Gold (Cleric): "There are many gods and religions in the world, almost too many to count, and they have different, valid purposes. Followers of the Domain of Gold take this one step further, and build their churches with the objective of acquiring vast amounts of wealth." A domain focused on mental commands, create mass hysteria and make opponents throw their wealth at your feet.

Circle of the Open Mind (Druid): "Masters of herbs, peace and laughter, followers of the Circle of the Open Mind are a joyous lot, their red eyes and wide smiles an invitation to deep, peaceful talks that may change subject without warning or sense." A "buffer-druid" focused on group-wide bonuses and penalties for those who partake in his herb-based communion.

Dandy (Fighter): "Not all warriors are equal; some are more equal than the others. Those who call themselves Dandies are even more equal than most. What challenges they can't overcome with their sword arm they can with lots of hired sword arms." Out take on the loved and classic Ravenloft kit, ready for your Curse of Strahd games!

Way of the Open Book (Monk): "There are some strange monks from far off lands that train their body and minds to be a perfect weapon. Their teachings mixed with the traditional monk ways from the near lands, creating a unique tradition capable with pen, praise, and stone-hard fists. They are neither Warrior Monks of Copyist Monks, but Warrior Copyist Monks." Become a master of the Word, kicking ass while gregorian chanting.

Oath of Fashion (Paladin): "One of the most controversial vows, these men and women vow to bring good taste and proper form to all corners of the world. They must battle forces of evil while making sure they never, ever, wear last season." A mobility-based paladin based on the most loved show of all time by the majority of the geek culture, allowing you to become part of the Fashion Police.

Survivalist (Ranger): "While most rangers are able to live off the wilds, the Survivalist is a master of preparation. These... intense... men and women know that one must be prepared for everything, because they are coming." Crazy prepared people of rural areas and the wilds that cook strange animals, despise city-folk and have arbitrary grudges against certain groups. How's that different from the ranger? Well, it's not!

Beggar (Rogue): "Not a mere street beggar, followers of this path improve the act of soliciting to an art. They are honorable folk, since they quite literally could be stealing, mugging or plainly murdering people, but instead they are just asking..." Take our brazilian art of accosting and forcefully "asking" to your own game table and take the coins off npcs and monsters alike. Those Giant Spiders will leave with pockets empty!

Sue Lineage   (Sorcerer): "Those who come from this lineage are insufferable heroes or villains of all kinds. They usually consider their power a curse, but no one else can see why. Their angst at that is only lesser than their awesome, unbridled awesomeness." A "main character" lineage, being able with both... oh well, who are we deceiving? Good at everything because he's sooooo special. Great for your DMPCs and to give life to that dear fanfic character.

The Writer (Warlock): "You have a pact with a strange being from another dimension. It's been know as God, Destiny, That Guy with Lots of Books, Dungeon Master, Poor Fanfic Writer and many other names." Don't fight Destiny! Instead embrace its linear plot, praise its characters and enjoy the added protection, glory and benefits that come with knowing the framing device!

School of Fetishism (Wizard): "Workers of spirit magic, fetishists cajole nature spirits into items of power, Fetishes, that they use to help their fellow adventurers. However, they must suffer through constant jokes about fetishists inside dungeons." Work spirit magic into Fetishes that anyone can use. However spirits play by their own rules, and you have to satisfy arbitrary quirks, their Kinks, to be able to access said Fetish.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
